Over the course of this week, highly respected US magazine, Motor trend will race various high end machines to determine Americas best drivers car. The line includes BMW's range topping M6 as well as AMG's SLS and Audi's R8 V10+. Adding some spice to the line up will Nissan's mighty GT-R as well as the new Porsche Cayman among others.

As far as best drivers car goes, my money will be on the Porsche and AMG SLS. They will also race these high performance machines against each other in a drag race with no less than 9 competitors all at once. This should be highly entertaining as I'm very curious to see how BMW's best performs against its competitors on the track as well as the drag strip.

Results should be available by the weekend.

Final results of the vehicles lap times as well as their overall feel on the track has been posted, and unfortunately the M6 came in at 10 of the 12 competitors. Surprisingly, Motortrend was very critical of the M6's performance on the track, and actually said that they should take lessons from Porsche.

The drag race will be posted today, and I expect the M6 to totally redeem itself with a podium finish. Cant wait!!

In conclusion:

Its fair to say that BMW are no longer head and shoulders above their German counterparts, and if price was no object more drivers would chose a focus RS over an M6.

Same day, same conditions GT-R is just in a different league.

Eish that's sad. But having went in an M6, I must say it is not an entertaining car at all. There's no real feel to it, so I believe these results 100%.
Although I don't think the Aston deserves to be that high up
