motor spare shop in centurion

Hi guys

my exhaust is leaking between the manifold and downpipe flange. I have phoned midas, goldwagen, auto zone, leo hease and a few exhaust shops in centurion. Nobody has stock of the gasket. Leo haese only has stock in the western cape.

does anyone know where I can get this gasket in the centurion/Highveld area?

I am capable of swinging a spanner and fitting the gasket myself.

Leo haese wanted R530.00 for the gasket ex vat, while litss motor spares in kempton has it for R30.00

I do go to kempton every 2 weeks but I need to sort out this exhaust leak asap

If you have the gasket in hand you can take it to goldwagen and have them find one for you. I only use the one that's accross from Leo haese. Sounds Like you've exhausted all your options for now. Excuse the pun. But you'll probably wait a similar time on the part order with BMW (and have to front the money) or just wait or get a friend to take you to kempton now.

What about take the drive out to Kempton get the gasket and swing by Ralph so his guys can sommer ft it for you.:thumbs:

here is my dilemma

I do not know anybody in centurion as I only moved here recently. (Most family and friends are in kempton)

Also I work alternate Saturdays till 14.00 to 14.30 depending on how busy I am at work. So by the time I get to kempton most spareshops are closed. Also I need to strip the car to get them a sample.

Its not leaking that bad. I only heard it a few days ago when I drove into my garage with my drivers window open. With the window closed I never noticed the leak.

and finally. Im working this weekend so I will only be in kempton by 15.00. And next week is my sisters wedding so there's no chance of me doing it then.

if I drive the car to kempton will it cause any damage to the manifold and downpipe by it getting warped?

Like I said its a small leak and hardly noticeable, but given the fact that I know its there is driving me nuts

Problem sorted, gasket was fine, the downpipe was cracked just before the flange meets the manifold,
