Motor plan

Hi guys

My motor plan will be expiring in the next couple of months and I want to get everything fixed I can. I spoke with BMW forsdicks and they informed me to do a check on the car would cost me R2000. Is this just Forsdicks being useless as per usual or is this common place for BMW?

I have a friend who drives a Volvo and while I am not a fan. He got a check list from them recently of everything he wants checked before his motor plan expires.

I have a service that I will need done before my motor plan expires and if this is there attitude, I need to put together a list of things that I need to bring up that aren't "working" or making strange "noises" so that they can be checked.

i see your point and to a certain degree, theirs.

lets face it, they won't check everything on the car for free as BMW SA will not pay them to do this and like most dealerships they dont usually do stuff for free even if you have been a long time customer :thumbdo:

what my buddy did was take his car to an independent BMW mechanic and they checked the car for less than a quarter of that price and told him what he should put on his list to check.

good luck

You can just take the car to BMW for a normal service, then complain about everything, such as noisy brakes, vibrations from the wheels/engine, abnormal handling, suspension noises, fluid leaks etc. They will then have to check everything anyway and fix what is necessary.

This is what I was told by a BMW service adviser when I last had a car serviced just before MP ran out....:fencelook:

I wonder when BMW will learn its easier to just give you a list you can tick instead of everyone listing everything they can think of
