The LC thing is probably bs. I don't know about the track thing, but it's the first I'm hearing of it.

A couple of points have been been raised in this thread that I would like to address...

The no-tracking clause under Motorplan has been around for 20 years. It is highlighted in the Motorplan contract you sign and every time you book you vehicle in you declare that it has not been used on a track or abused in any other way.

Dealers have no interest in voiding Motorplan... The exact opposite is true... Your dealer survives by doing Motorplan based maintenance and want your car in Motorplan so they can continue to service the vehicle. Without a valid Motorplan in place they do not get paid for the work...

Dealers are also constrained by their dealership agreement with BMW (SA) and by breaking the Motorplan contract and expecting the dealer to cover for you, you are placing the dealer in a lose-lose position.

Porsche will also void maintenance contracts based on damage caused by tracking the vehicle. The only manufacturer that I know of that has a published mechanism for managing the tracking of cars under warranty is Nissan GTR. You are required to take your car into a HPC before the track day. The GTR is set up for track use. Your warranty is suspended until you return the vehicle to the HPC (after the track day) and the car is subjected to a full inspection. Any damaged caused between the two visits to the HPc will not be covered by the warranty. This seems fair, but only works because of the small base of vehicles on SA roads.

Right... I am off my soapbox now

LC was installed in the GTR and usage was forbidden. They have since changed this policy in future GTR releases.

Porsche LC is the best one around.
