More AC woes

I got the aircon regassed and now whenever I engage the AC the belt screams when I give it more than 1/3 throttle... It has a new belt on it too? Maybe the belt tension is wrong? Could the compressor be stiff and needs to be oiled in the bearings?

sounds like your ac is overcharged.. the pump is trying to pump liquid, and cant , making it stand still, making the belt slip on the pulley..

as for the bearings, the pump is lubricated by oil circulating with the gas..

then again, could also just be belt tension that is wrong..

Screams after regas , would expect over full as well , normally you have a sticker on the car with the quantity of gas to be used .Check belt tension , about 1 cm play on longest run between pulleys .

the guys that did the recharge should have used a gauge set to check pressure before and after the pump.. hope you did not use one of those next to the road diy guys?

letting off a random amount of gas has a slight chance of working, (provided of course that is your problem) but you will also loose some oil lubing the system..
