Mods vs Motorplan

When they service your car they will check for software. The diagnostic computer will show either a 1 or a 0. Zero means standard 1 means modded.

The AC Schnitzer software would show a 0 as it is endorsed by BMW. However I don't think the gains would be as good as say a Dasteq or UniQ? but would definately not void motorplan.

Bluefin is supposedly untraceble if you re-set standard map and unplug. Plugs into diagnostic point in your interior.

Schnitzer is not approved by BMW South Africa in any way. It is covered by JSN BMW who have marketed it so well that other dealers think its approved.
As for the 1 or 0 theory I am battling to control the laughter. Who told you that ?

Whether or not ACS is approved doesn't really matter

Coz I doubt any sane person with a 135 / 335 is gonna spend the R130k for their software and exhaust combo.

The same would apply to any other BMW model (cheaper than the x35, but still ridiculously expensive and overpriced)

And about the binary codes... :spit:
I take it your dealer told you this?

BMW themselves have an upgrade package for 135i's and 335's...you can even get those ubercool motorsport swade bucket seats as well, there is a good performance upgrade also and it doesnt affect yr motorplan.

but as usual its going to cost alot.......ask the dealer......speed and sound had the article in one off their issues.

@Twinz... You have far more experience with this, i'm only 21 years old but i'm doing my best to pick up as much knowledge as possible and share.

@ George Smooth. I took my ///M to BMW Paarlberg for a regular service and fault checks and they have the new diagnostics (fibre optic etc). I thought my car was stock and I was there with the service technician whilst my car was plugged in and he showed this to me. Perhaps my chip is shite but it was picked up and showed as 1 on the diagnostic screen. He told me a schnitzer software is undetectable.

Please substantiate why this is untrue so I can make sense of it all.

Cheers:thumbsup:

I sold my 2010 135i with the BMW performance pack. The ecu was recoded by the bmw dealer.

If the car goes to another dealer the motorplan will show an ecu upgrade and the performance pack upgrade.

The N54 hates heat soak so if you mod make sure the issue of heat soak is addressed.

I went back to an M3 because i prefer naturally aspirated engines but
my 135 with the down pipes, exhaust, performance pack and Xcede sofware was a DEMON..the N54 really rocks.

There are two spec of E92 M3 for 2010.

Firstly the batches built from 2007 when the E 92 was introduced.

towards March 2010 the E 92M3 had a small faclift with a number of technical changes ( google it )..price increase of R 44 000 on the base
model pushing it into the R 800 grand price bracket. To differenciate the
two specs they call it the 2011 spec.

I have owned the older spec also and can say there is a difference in
the spec but who cares an M is an M...:thumb:

I am in your area...PM me so we can meet up. I will scan your car and discuss some of the options with you. Time to change dealership as well. Paarlberg :banghead:

We can also go to another dealer and ask them to scan your car in our presence...will tell them if they are up to shite.

Mods vs waranty must always be a concern, but lets discuss what you want to do and we take it from there...
