MOD : E36 325i Supercharger ?

Hi All

Need some advise if possible.

I have had this thought before but never got down to actually doing it but the BUG has bitten again and need your guys input.

So firstly I loved the E36 Vert but always found it quiet a mission to find one that was extremely clean and looked afterd with the roof working 100% etc After many months/years of shopping i manage to find what i was looking for. I was quiet specific on the choice of colour down to the rims it had to have. So with that sorted i feel the urge to make the engine match the look and have had this idea to supercharge it.

But here is the thing i dont want a M3 killer etc. I want to maintain the drive-ability of the car but to have a nice Purrr coming from it.

What are your guys thoughts of supercharger and components that would be recommended for a E36 325i individual. Car is mainly a Sunday Driver and at times trips to the coast.

Here is what she currently looks like as i know many will ask for the photos  , sorry its the only pic i had here today.

PS: I see you got E34 M5 rims :inlove: those mags really goes well with Boston Green  You don't have any issues with the rim offset ???

IMHO it would be better on a 328i . You will gain torque and power , I would expect power to be cloase to 200 Kw and torque to be just over 300 nm , at the coast . So not too far off M3 power .
My only gripe is the 325i needs to be revved to get going fast . My 325i is not far behind my 328i , uphills sees the 328i pull away .
You can chip the car after the SC and fit a better exhaust system , depends what you want and how the SC is set to boost .
Cost ? This may be say R70K .

We've had this discussion Shaun, you know what Burgy's supercharger kits can do, give him a PM. Definitely the most affordable SC solution in SA and still holds the warranty from VF themselves.

The car acts as normal, its only when you put your foot flat does it change personalities. The VF charger is a centrifugal Superhcarger, meaning it doesn't create as much heat as other chargers, but the con is, it only boosts from Higher RPM. It keeps your smooth linear power curve, So there is no low down torque. And, from reading what you are looking for, this is pretty much what you want. A car that feels normal when driving happily along, yet is fast when you put it to the test.

Good luck with the build. You'll be happy with a SC BMW.

Thanks dude. Well spotted on the rims. The rims fitted in nicely but im running 215 45 17 , all round. I think it would have been a problem if i had to go a bitter wider but to be honest the look is clean and no issues with touching etc.

What about a turbo conversion?

Thought about this as well but decided against it as im running a Auto box and i had to look at things like compression ratio etc. With the supercharger it should be a straight bolt on. So less work required.

Hi Crash , we didnt quiet discuss a charger for my model car hence the questions. On the newer generation eg E46 models I do acknowledge Burgy has done a awesome job with the superchargers , your car is a good example. Im trying to do homework of any E36 models supercharged.

Any help will be highly appreciated around components , type of charger , costing etc.

Hi Shaun,

We do offer a kit for the 325i E36, its actually a very similar system to the E46 kits.

We also do an OBD1 flash, so software is taken car of.

At 6psi, the kit is good for +-280bhp
