Miss Fire on E90 325i

Hi All, i picked up miss firing and loss of power on my E90 325i. Full service has been done and all coil packs have been replaced. The problem is that it is intermittent. Did a diagnostic, only 1 error still shows. Car has been decat about a year ago.

Any advice welcome.

Hi,

It might be the VVT motor. My N46 had the same error until a VVT motor mulfunction error appeared. I replaced the VVT motor and while at it, cleaned the vanos solonoids and no more errors.

Run the fuel low and then add some fuel injector cleaner. If it goes away you will need to get them cleaned.

Yes, it 1st started with oxygen sensor heating after catalyctic coverter error before the yellow engine light would come, it did that about 2000km before the engine warning light would come. I never changed the oxygen sensors only the vvt motor and that error does not come anymore. Car runs great.

Exhaust guy reckons software and/or cat foolers will sort it out. No engine lights on at the moment.

What do you guys think?
