Hey guys, just went to SMG Canal Walk to get some prices for a few miscellaneous parts on the E34...

Things I need to replace are those sliders for my bumper..and the door stop/brake for the drivers side door (as it is seriously annoying and scary...everytime I open the door too far!) ... The other stuffs such as fuel door actuator and rims are on my wishlist to restore this car back to factory spec....

Just had a look at some American and European sites....it works out cheaper for items over R700 bucks there however the only downfall is shipping and customs ^_^

According to ITAC (International Trade Administration Commission of South Africa), you won't get clearance on importing parts if they are readily available in South Africa. Have a look at Section F here:
http://www.itac.org.za/import_guidelines_page.asp

For that quote, you could have bought 2 complete E34s in the UK.

Good luck.
I bought stuff from Motormec in Uk 2 times and had no problem with customs.
First time I had to pay import duty (about R250 on a R550 part), but the last time they skipped me and I just kept quiet when I collected at the post office.
Was a hedgehog (Final Stage Resistor), so very small package.

Me neither. Never even knew such a law existed.
