Mini Cooper S R53 with an Auto

Hey,

So I've been looking at getting the R53 with an auto box as a run around car in and about town.

I know they're rare as all hell, but I've had issues with my knee which has forced me to look at auto's almost exclusively.

I'm just curious as to what strain those auto boxes can take and how durable they are.

I've read on NAM and other forums that they're pretty solid, but no one mentions anything about modding and those gearboxes.

Any thoughts?

I think they should be good.

It's a proper 6 speed auto and bar the fact that its a bit slower than the manual I see no problem with them.
