@ Mike S, how about doing a write up on what you did and where. Also your opinion on what's worth modding on the S.

Hi msm,

I'll do that one of these days. There are minimal OEM parts left on that car :)

Best mod for your car(cost wise) is reducing the supercharger pulley. Get a 15% pulley(ALTA, KMT etc.) and you can buy the JCW belt from your local BMW dealer. It shouldn't cost you more than a R2000 at most including labour for everything. Don't try other sizes, you won't find the right one in South Africa. Saves the hassle of importing a new belt each time.

Thanks for the tip. Actually planning to do pulley and chip in about 2 months time. Not sure about exhaust.

Do you have the standard exhaust. Heard that a freeflow deprives the mini of too much low end torque, but a decat on the standard exhaust is worthwhile. Your opinion on this???

You're on the right path.

I don't. I have the JCW system with an imported RMW header (branches). I can not comment on the decat as I have not done this myself on the stock system. You will see some gains though, just not sure how much.

my first mini before my GP was a 2004 cooper s .....

my mods were quite simple...
17 degree reduction pulleys
gp works intercooler
van der linde branch
x factor software...
these mods were quite quik bolt ons which bumped the power from 125kw to 148kw...pity i never owned it long enough to see what a full exhaust system would have been like to the power figures......do the branch buddy the stock exhaust is extremely restrictive...with the branch alone i could feel the car breather far better

Been scanning some info on the local tuners and it seems that VanDerLinde have a pretty good reputation for their work on the Minis as well, even beyond their exhaust systems.
