Hi All,

The little GP is for sale - Reminder its a 2013, now with 80 066km on the clock.

Its a 9/10 car but its been driven and enjoyed, if you are looking for 10/10 this isnt it. I would argue its one of the neatest I have seen, its beautifully documented (100% dealer kept with a ton of preventative maintenance) too. I had the gearbox oil and lower engine mount changed 50km ago by the dealer as well, its got 7000km till its next service only.

Selling for R380k and a tiny bit negotiable - Vehicle is in JHB. Keep in mind the GP is a garage queen (its done less than 1000km since October last year as an example).

Equally and unfortunately, my partner and I were in a very serious car accident last week and my perspective for things with 4 wheels has changed dramatically and part of that is saying goodbye to this little fella. R10k finders fee for a successful sale.

Sorry to hear bud, glad you're ok though.

Thank you Kyle, my partner and I walked away from this mess on the 1st April:

That was our 2012 Alfa Romeo Mito QV, after it was hit by a truck in standing traffic and rammed through 11 other cars causing a 25 car pile up.... Is what it is, the GP had its time and place and right now things feel and are different. Its been for sale for a month or so now but after the above and a lot of reflection and fear I cant hold onto it.

Thanks for the kind words everyone.

We were doing about 40km/h slowing down in traffic and out of nowhere there was a horrific impact - We had no warning at all. The truck hit us first and seems to have pushed us through the traffic (we think about 11 cars). The police told us there are 25 cars in total affected - Contrary to the reporting, there were no fatalities and we were taken to hospital and discharged 5 hours after the accident. I know a lot of people saw our car and just assumed we had not made it... The paramedics on scene couldnt believe it either.

One of the cars ours went through was my fiance's MINI tech at his dealer who fractured his ribs and he was in an IX35... As for our car, its a miracle that the Alfa took that amount of punishment and kept us alive, more so that we were both able to climb out the drivers door and walk around and wait for an ambulance.

The saddest thing is we tracked the car the day before at the Benoni K Formula circuit with Stellantis SA and the Alfa Romeo Club and both of us really bonded to the car and really fell quite in love with it. I guess it returned the favour and saved our lives.

Understandably, we dont foresee for some time that we will be back on track or drive a performance car - We both have severe pschological effects from this.

Found out this morning its now a total of 28 cars - Trucking company is not insured either according to the police and driver is a foreigner. The police report (got a copy this morning) states the driver "does not know why the truck didnt brake" as his reason for the collision.

My partner and I came off the pain meds 48 hours ago, yeah big mistake. He also drove to work on his own in the Lexus (a friends CT200h) two days ago and had a panic attack on his way to work and another on his way home then woke up yesterday unable to move his neck so it was off to the Chiro to have that fixed which was torture for him, his follow up is Friday. Even this morning in the car with me driving he was lightly freaking out and basically squeezing my hand to bits, I feel so bad for him.

Besides pain under my left rib and hectic bruising (I look like stale bread with all the discoloration) I have been good and my puncture wound in my leg is healing well - The freeway part of the drive freaks me out a bit but otherwise I am okay - I drove a mates Abarth to a workshop this morning and wont lie, it made me nervous whereas I feel quite safe in the Lexus which is a lofty solid thing.

Next up is to get some counselling booked for us both - So far, it feels like the worst of the physical recovery is done.

Thank you to everyone for commenting and for the well wishes - talking about it has started to normalise it and that helps a ton.
