Picked up a dream purchase on Saturday.

So to explain to those who don't know what this is.

1 of 2000 in the world, 1 of 30 in SA.
Its 160-170kw 1.6L Turbocharged

It comes with a unique paint colour - Thunder Grey
Unique Aero Kit and Diffuser - 6% Less Drag compared to a normal JCW
Unique carbon fibre spoiler
Lightweight racing wheels
Custom spec tyres for handling (Weird size too)
It has a rear delete - no seats
It has no extras, no cruise no rear speakers no steering controls
It comes with a thicker steering wheel
It comes with front and rear body stiffeners
The motor has lightweight cams, crank and higher compression for track use
It comes with Bilstein adjustable coilovers - 20mm height and soft hard setting with camber plates
It has M sport 6 pot Brembo Calipers off a 135i with 330mm discs
The interior has a leather covered dash and some other unique features
It has Recaro sport seats in half alcantara half leather (heated)
The car features all available JCW addons including exhaust, intake etc

It is purpose built for track days and up until the GP3 in 2020 it was the fastest production mini in the world. It was developed on the Nurburgring with the specific intent to be outrageously quick.

The cars feature a custom decal kit, brake cooling ducts etc. In short it's an ultra rare, track focused hatch built with no compromise.

I have done 300km in it already and it is, simply put, stupendous - Nothing like any MINI I have driven or owned, and I have had 5 already.

It is in exceptional condition and has had every potential problem area dealt with in the last 2000km.

Timing Chain / Tensioner
Coil Packs
Revised Intake Pipes
New Tappet Cover and Gasket
Major Service
4x Discs and Pads alround
4x New Tyres
Aux Belts and Pulleys

All done at MINI Cape Town - I did take the most expensive warranty I could just in case, its still a French motor, not matter what is said about its internals etc.

Bunch of cosmetic trim that ages poorly have also been replaced. Dealer did a service on it (even though it wasnt due) before delivery as well. Overall a stunning stunning example of a very unique car that I could not pass up on.

Epic car, congrats meneer. I wonder if this was the car at Mother City Car Company, really clean example

Congrats again Mike! I hope you are planning to add the missing roof decals?

Do the basic roof decals and the roof number. Do you know which number it is @MiniMike20 . My mate had one and before it met it's untimely end he had this done. I am sure it is somewhere in the car or based on the VIN. Unbelievable car: you have to drive/own one to know just how good it is for what it is.

Congrats on the Go Kart!

Having owned an R56 Cooper S with the JCW kit, every tiny bump used to adjust my spine..

Do you need to visit the chiropractor after every drive?

It is not as bad as I expected - That being said I have owned PROPER hot hatches which do have spine breaking suspension setups.

The MINI is firm and a little bouncy but it does not crash or dive bomb its way through uneven surfaces or bumps which means that while you notice you are in a hotted up bubble on wheels its still quite reasonable.

Most of the GP2's are missing them.

My fiance has asked MINI SA for the Production Number out of 2000 and I will be having the stickers remade for the roof as well as a new red sticker for the bonnet as its started lifting in the corners from the heat.

I thought it was as well but it seems to have come from we buy cars at some point, ended up in a very wealthy collection of cars, had some serious preventative work thrown at it and then ended up for sale. I tried to track it further back but there is nothing - There is... but POPI does not allow me to ask my fiance to pull it up on BMW's system. 😅
