Don’t be surprised if we run into the popo again. And yes - they do have a foot to stand on, since we are driving in convoy without escorts. The next thing we have to ask permission from the governor to do this and that......etc etc .
Point is – you don’t want too much exposure if you intend on doing something which is a sensitive matter on a regular basis
PS – read that again. I didn’t say it is wrong, but it is still a sensitive issue
herr bmw said:ok guys got a reply from freerider, but still waiting from twinz.
lets just all keep calm,i want the run to go on EVEN if no magazine cover it.
i have sent a e-mail to mmr asking to just hold a bit
let me just explain to the rest of the forum members what actually happened.
i sent a pm asking uber if s&s could cover the event,no reply,so this week after seeing the ct fanatics in s&s,decided to contact mmr, they are willing to come aboard, but wont if s$s are covering it as in the past they have had the same cars in the same month. xr8 from the cape.
so tonight i got hold of ubers cell no and phoned him,he says he will speak to the editor to send some one.
so at this stage i dont know who is covering the event.
BUt it is still going ahead and at the end of the day its the fanatics that count and the friendships that get built on the runs.
i would like to appologise if i got everybodys hopes up:sorry:.you can all beat me up at the run,so please guys dont pull out, lets do it for the fun of it and the love of the brand BMW
Coisman said:So as you can CLEARLY see from the law side we were not in a convoy, just a group of guys, driving their cars, the way that they were intended to be driven.

herr bmw said:ok guy I have decided.
no magazine coverage,no s&s,no mmr,no car,no topcar,no top gear etc etc.
this has been all my fault,as in the begining it was all under the radar, only a meeting spot and that was it,and that was pm-ed to everybody.even the route is still secret, and why did i do this is so as other forums let us be.(no offence to the other forums)
so basically i want it back "underground",the route you will get on friday, the mini runs from bmw fountains and the lenz guys are still on.
another reason why i have decided this is ,if we do this in the future, then there will be less heat coming down on us.
so guys lets go out on friday and do what come natural to us,enjoy driving and talking about cars and about BMW.
once again sorry for getting every ones hopes up about a feature, but i have a couple of ideas where we can get a feature.
so i hope everyone is still game and i dont want anybody pulling out because of it

No we are not... :nono:
Here is the law about a convoy. And from this its pretty clear we WERE NOT a convoy... :thumb:
National Road Traffic Act, 1996
National Road Traffic Regulations, 1999
Chapter X : Rules of the road and matters relating thereto
Part I : Rules of the road
318. Convoys on public road
1) No person shall operate on a public road a motor vehicle forming part of a convoy of motor vehicles which are being delivered to a motor dealer or other person –
a) between the hours of 18h00 on a Friday or, in the case where such Friday is a public holiday, the Thursday immediately preceding such Friday, and 06h00 on a Monday, or in the case where such Monday is a public holiday, the Tuesday immediately succeeding such Monday; or
b) between the hours of 18h00 on the day immediately preceding Christmas Day and 06h00 on the day immediately succeeding the Day of Goodwill, to the extent to which such hours do not already fall within a period contemplated in paragraph (a).
2) In a prosecution for a contravention of subregulation (1), it shall, in the absence of evidence to the contrary, be presumed that the motor vehicle concerned was in the process of being delivered to a motor dealer or other person.
