Meyle HD Giubo and Bushes

Hi all, does anyone know who sells Meyle HD products in Cape Town or elsewhere? I have tried Incomex in Centurion on two separate occasions, as per a previous thread, but the salesmen had absolutely no clue what I was talking about. I'm looking for a Giubo and rear Diff bush for a Manual E46 325i Touring .

Most stores only stock the normal Meyle products, not the Meyle HD.

Meyle HD is normally available from iMCOMEX If they do not have you will need to import.

In the case of the Guibo rather use agents.

have you considered powerflex bushes ?
Meyle diff bush is very popular- I've used myself, but you can use powerflex too. Meyle seems very hard to get down there...Imcomex had them but you should email the manager at Centurion if you want any decent service

He's name is Gavin Holtshausen- very efficient guy there and will surely be of help. Attach foto of the bush on your email so it helps them match to their catalogue

The BMW one from agents is not too expensive and lasts a very long time so I'd go for that too. But the powerflex set for the rear suspension is said to last a lifetime
I've only used powerflex bushes on the lower control arms and ARB ..and have stiffened an old suspension admirably

For guibo, I've used Febi on two cars. I bought a febi guibo in the uk and one at Goldwagon also febi two years ago and both have been good so far for around R500 each
So I wouldn't necessarily go to agents and pay through my nose

Thanks. I have not yet considered Powerflex bushes. I spoke to Gavin at Incomex Centurion as advised by a forum member, but he says they only stock the regular Meyle Giubo and SWAG Diff bush. I think many Giubo's fail due to incorrect fitment. Anyway, off to ebay.

Sorry to hear you couldn't find the HD meyle guibo. Forgive me for asking tho, why do you need an HD one when the original one is not, yet lasts for so long. I changed one on my car for the first time at 150k and yes it had disintegrated by then, but has done a good 14 years from factory.
On another car i acquired in 2010 with an old guibo- i changed it as preventative measure in 2017 and it was totally intact. So these things don't break down easily. However i do agree with you that incorrect fitment could cause early failure. The guibo has a small arrow that must be aligned to a point on the prop or somewhere in that area. I suspect that failure to position it correctly like that could cause it to fail

Do let us know where you find that bush tho, and how much you pay for it please

Thanks Beemerbro. Judging by what the forumites say about aftermarket Giubos self destructing, the HD variant comes highly recommended in terms of quality VS cost. The stealers want R1600 for the OEM Giubo hence its worth looking for a cheaper replacement.

I' haven't had guibo problems so far after fitting febi ones, but if you're recommending Meyle HD mr t then I'm thinking I'll buy one at least to keep on shelf, just in case...
I often buy stuff if i have extra cash and keep on shelf
