Hi guys,

Please can someone explain how the maintainence plan of Mercedes works?

I know all 2013 models are comprehensively covered by Merc

What about pre 2013?

thanks

Standard Mobilo Plan 6yr/120000km- Free services until 60000km, then you pay in a percentage. The percentage you pay in goes up in stages, up to a maximum of 40%. You will need to check with Mercedes as to the exact increments.

Mobilo Puls Plan 6yr/120000 - Free services for the duration. I have this option on my car, very handy.

If I remember correctly, your contribution increases at every service.

First service you pay nothing, then second service 10%, then 20% and so on and so forth...

You can, for a fee, upgrade this to what they call the Mobilo 120, which is comprehensive and requires no contribution from you at any point in time.

Some of the high-end models come standard with the Mobilo 120. By high-end I mean E-Class and above

 something like that - but dependant on the modle to when the first service is. But wait till you have to do the breaks.
Audi and BMW Motorplans are very similar.

mmmm, then I rather keep my car stock and stop nagging about how strict BMW is, I don't have to pay anything in for the full duration of the MP.

Did the breaks on my C350 two weeks back, service total came to R11,200. So yes, it is a concern.

Think of it as "punishment tax" for buying the wrong brand of German vehicle

Just kidding, nothing wrong with Mercs ... nothing right with them too :fencelook:
