As per article: "Opinions on AMG tuned sedans have leaned towards a diagnosis of tail happy, lairy, terrifying or loose at the rear. AMG has decided it’s have had enough of that and has slapped on an optional four-wheel drive kit to its Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG.

Is the new E63 AMG more powerful?

Yep, the 5.5-litre twin-turbo has been beefed up from 386kW to 410kW with 720Nm of torque to shove you along. If you want to go faster than the claimed 4.2 seconds to 100kph there are two options: firstly you can opt for the new 4MATIC all-wheel drive system, which will improve the benchmark sprint time to 3.7 seconds. Secondly you could go all out and try for the top of the range E63 AMG 4MATIC S-Model. This will give you an extra 20kW (430kW) and add 80Nm (800Nm) but is only available with the all-wheel drive system. It does improve the sprint time to 3.6 seconds though.

Will all-wheel drive still be fun?

The torque distribution is still biased towards the rear (67:33) with three stages of ESP to select from, so you will no doubt find that the 63 AMG 4MATIC will still deliver performance thrills but in a more gradual manner. If you choose the S-Model, AMG will also throw in a differential lock on the rear axle, they say this increases rear traction and improves driving dynamics.

How will people know I’ve bought the S-Model?

Don’t worry; they’ve taken care of that with numerous newly designed and striking design features. The A-wing at the front is finished in high-gloss black, the front splitter is finished in silver chrome, as are the three-dimensional inserts in the side sill panels. The rear sports distinctive twin chrome tailpipes belonging to the AMG sports exhaust system.

Brake callipers in red painted finish and an AMG logo on the trunk lid sporting an “S” in contrasting black are other characteristic features of the S-Models."

Eish... That's a mean car :praise:

BMW has never played the 4 wheel drive game, so let's hope they can produce some magic under the bonnet!!

:praise::praise: Impresive machine - but I thought it was 430kW and 800Nm
and AWD was an option only.

All wheel drive....all the time......they are all catching on. Its only a matter of time before RWD is a thing of the past, like manual gearboxes and aspirated engines
