You must have been doing some low flying for the badge to fly off :fencelook::cartel:

I like the carbon badges looks cool :smilebounce:

Not at all lol, I'm still puzzled because my pressure washer didn't even lift it while washing

The carbon badges look great. R900 is crazy as opposed to R120. That’s a steal. Hope they last

Got a bit bored with the dead quiet stock exhaust, so I had the stock center resonator and backbox removed. Sounds a lot throatier on startup and has a nice burble on idle. Sound isn't too intrusive and there is no drone from the exhaust on the highway.

I would prefer it to be a little louder, but then I'd have to do software and downpipe... Not keen at spending money on that when I can rather do maintenance items on the car instead.

Anyway, here's the video for anyone wondering how the stock system sounds with the DPF still in place. Will try to get a decent in-car vid sometime.

Had some push-in LED's in a box, so decided to clean my third brake light and replace the dome lights with LED's.

Looks pretty good and a bit more modern.

So quite a bit has happened over the past few months. Did front disks, wipers, bonnet lifts, front top-mounts, and shocks all-round.

Took the car on holiday to Knysna via George, and then Jeffreys. Outenique pass was amazing! And as we were driving into Knysna there were paragliders gliding along the coast and mountain above my car - could see them through the sunroof. Was a pretty epic motoring moment.

The 320d didn't skip a beat, although the exhaust is louder than I thought it would be at the coast. Sounded basass. Managed almost 1200km on the way down, but only 850km on the way back due to the roads veing completely devoid of traffic and cops on the 24th of December.

Also had a student drive into my door on the 19th of November 2018... Aldo from Artistic Autobody could take it in on the 14th of January 2019, and I got the car back on the 18th. Perfectly matched the paint and flake. The man is the best in the business.

Some pics below.

Also cleaned all the boot panels. And had to remove my front window tint because it was badly scratched. What a pain in the ass to remove! Doom worked to get the glue off...

I also had a little water leak at the front fender due to the window washer reservoir leaking... Or so I thought. Bought a new rubner seal for the washer motor for like R60. But it turned out to be the motor itself. See the crack in the next post. I plastic welded it, but I think it is still leaking a bit...

The offending, leaking washer motor... Will have to have another look at it to seal it up properly.

I'm keen to do this on my 320D, but at my current mileage (155xxxkm) I'm leaning towards doing a downpipe/decat while I'm at it.

Quick question...did you ever figure out why your consumption was/is "high"?

Car looks good!

I've heard the straightpipe on the M47/N47 motors and it's a bit loud for a daily/my age.

Consumption-issue - I've just come to terms with the 2.0d having to work harder than the 3.0d in traffic, and the auto also eats a bit of diesel as well. This car loves highway cruising, can easily get 17km/l plus on the highway.

And thanks for the compliment! I had a go at a DIY rim refurb, bit it went very wrong. My paint was chipping off, so I thought let me just use paint stripper... Big mistake!!! So I either need to get new wheels or have these sandblasted and sprayed...

I've heard people say that mine is quite loud at WOT :fencelook: and that's with a complete stock exhaust and cat, but until I actually hear it for myself I'll take that with a pinch of salt. The main reason for the DP is to increase flow of the exhaust gasses.

All the best with deciding about new wheels...

Will try to get a vid of my exhaust under WOT, might give some perapective. The BMW's aren't as loud as say the VW's...

Lovely car, and great workmanship on your car.
Thanks man. Just maintenance on this car for now. Would love to load software and change wheels and get a boot spoiler etc... But I've learned that a daily is better when unmodified. Maybe when I get a bakkie I'll mod this thing. :)
