Car sounds clean , shifting and boosting like it should, oil & filter new . The diesel filter never gets replaced when serviced unless you ask them and check after that it was done . With that been replaced you should see a better return , but I cant see that been the only cause fr such high consumption.

Have it changed , get a diagnostic done and hopefully it picks up something silly that's a easy remedy . Let me know the outcome .

Will try to get my inpa software working, what a mission. To add my car reaches 90degrees within 4km, and temp holds steady, so thermostat is 100%. Will change diesel filter tomorrow and see if that improves anything.

Yeah something sounds weird, i average 11.5km/l driving average of 40 km/h and mostly sitting in traffic from kempton to sandton daily. This weekend i saw 15km/l driving to Heidelberg with 4 adults and 1 child with the aircon on all the way. Now after the open road im sitting at 12.5km/L.

Open road works wonders on the diesel, one thing i have noticed is they dont like short distances at all.

Perhaps run some Injector cleaner, i remember that made a big difference on my 120d.

9l/100km is pretty much what I get on my NA 6 with moderate driving :hammerhead:

For a short commute like that, it sounds about right to be honest. Remember on that short little commute your engine is never getting up to full operating temp. The diesels take a long time to warm up. I also felt like in traffic the x30d was a better engine. The 20d felt a little labored and I felt like I had to drive it harder

I agree :thumbs: My 330d is lighter on juice when commuting in heavy traffic than my e46 320d was.

Thanks Sash, I know Andy, he has helped me out immensely on the 330d I had. It seems all is in order though, car's consumption has creeped over 12km/l, it loves highways, traffic not so much. Still 30%lighter on juice than my Audi was it seems looking at my range and consumption to date on the first tank of fuel.

Now I'm just battling to get Rheingold to work, what a mission.

I am struggling with INPA, EDiBias, once tha tis done, going to try to get Rheingold to work, but my biggest hurdle is that my laptop is a win10 machine.

I went scrapyard hunting today for some odds&ends. Got this little twist knob for the battery cover in the boot. Mine was broken.

Next on the list is the rear bracket for the warning triangle, I only have the front "cup". Then I also need the inspection cover in the drivers side front wheelwell.

In some cases i found BMW to be reasonable with some of these small parts. As opposed to going to multiple scrappies ( time away from work, and distance etc) makes it worth it.

Otherwise try Spartan on the corner of old jhb and wierda road

Over the weekend I didn't do much, but I did take apart my rear view mirror as it was a bit loose when driving and shook when driving over crappy road surfaces.

Took the clamshell off, twisted the mirror to pop it off, and I saw that two if the three bars were bent, so I took them out and knocked them straight with a hammer. They came our pin-straight and the mirror is now really solid, no shaking.

So I got a little busy just fixing some cosmetic things on the 320d, got the rear clip for the warning triangle, R57.75 at a scrapyard. Also removed the soft touch from the steering wheel insert as it was looking pretty crappy. Wanted gloss black but couldn't find vinyl, so fake carbon will have to do for now. I think it looks much better

I also put some yellow lamin-x on my foglights. Have done it on my last few cars, continuing the tradition. Didn't have time to restore the lenses before applying the vinyl. Old age is making me lazy.
