I just got this off the BMW Motorcycle Club forum.

Breakfast runs with more than 5 bikes in a group are illegal I hereby quote the Cape Town Traffic Department's reply to a question I submitted "As per the National Road Traffic Act 93/1996, a convoy of vehicles means “6 or more motor vehicles operated on a public road”. "By all rights, a permit with certain conditions attached must be issued if a club wants to do a group ride." "Applications for permits can be made to the Events & Film Permit Office, City Of Cape Town, 6th Floor, Waldorf Arcade, 80 St Georges Mall, Cape Town. Tel: 021 483 9072, Fax: 021 957 0046" "No charges for permit accept for a revenue stamp" "There is no formal “distance apart”………..so if they have smaller groups…..no problem." "Normally we do not have problems with the BMW club, but it’s safer to make an application as an “event” " My statement: So, ride in groups of 5, no specified distance apart, or get a permit for a convoy. So far we have decided to meet at Blue Route Mall. Date and time and what we gonna be doing from there on must be still be decided. We could take a drive through to Zandvlei from there, just to chill and maybe braai. Just a suggestion.

Sunday afternoon cruise around a mountain would be awesome, the parkoff until just before sunet, take some pics and have some snack!

Thinking about this now.... Logistically this will have to happen either early morning or in the evening.

My reason is that if it's Saturday/, and the weather is nice, most places will be full during the afternoon....

TBH-as much as I luuuuuurv braaing(come rain or shine), VeNoM's and badboyJC's suggestions makes the most sense.(just my opinion)

I personally don't know anyone on the forum....(i met up one day with one of cape towns bmw clubs and I didn't really smaak the vibe so much....hence I didn't join sed club)....and to put a face to the (forum)name would be awesome, so im hoping we aren't a bunch of guys that sit in our cars and look "kwl" in a parking lot.

afternoon works best saturday/sunday after lunch @2pm and leave 3pm for ice cream... get ice cream... buy snacks go park off at clifton side that parking just after fourth... bring your okkas, ecigs and smokes. lol
