:=): hi guys

I made a buy on eBay yesterday after a few days of looking, I must complement the seller in the UK who supplied me the following items
1- Dashboard
2- tail lights
3- brake vents that go next to fog lights.
4- angel eye headlights.
5- angel eye fog lights
6- and a few misulaniace items screws plugs clips

In total the whole lot including door to door delivery cost £525 that is about R 7,300
All included.
Delivery will be in a week as I received my tracking number from DHL.

Good luck with customs :blab:

With door to door courier with DHL wouldn't there be no customs?

I may be mistaken but I think DHL just forwards the bill and you have to repay them to get the parcel.

There is no skipping customs regardless who the courier is, what does happen is companies like FedEx are able to clear items faster than most others, also because they handle the clearing personally they help keep customs in check unlike the SA post office who really don't give a damn..

Expect to pay VAT at a minimum and possibly some duties...

DHL will call you with the custom charges, once you pay they will dispatch it.

Smaller amounts can be paid COD iirc

No running away from customs bud,
What made you settle on that supplier, always check ratings and number of items sold. Gives you an indication of how good the supplier really is.
Also, assuming you paid via Paypal

Good luck bud

Yeah customs always hurts.
I brought in my Front + Back Cusco Strut braces. (160 British Pounds) Then the shipping cost me (80 pounds) When cutsoms came...I paid another R1000+
In the end..these braces cost me around R4000+
But yes...different items has different fees. I think it also has to do with the weight etc.

Hope you get your stuff man

Ps:But doesn't one get tax free for the first R15000-00 goods per year?

Strange thing I seen the other day. A guy here at work is into digital paintings and ordered a sketch pad from Hong Kong which was handled by DHL.

He ordered on a Wednesday and by the Friday it was here. Delivered to the office with no additional duties.

sometimes you can mail the buyer before buying and ask if they can box it in an unmarked box and label it as gift or second hand, so customs reduced..sometimes with gifts you can escape customs..freind did it for me once on a laptop..

if your parcel is being handed by TNT express then expect poor service...

my new vanos seals were purchased and paid for last week monday, its been sitting at JHB customs since last wednesday and only today is the clearance payment request being processed by them.. damn slow buggers...

ps. they nailed me a further R180 admin fee + vat to clear it for me..:thumbdo:
