Howzit gents!

I'm looking for the latest opinions regarding software for the M57 in my E60 530d.

Current research points to RK Motion or Madness Motorsport. Anyone with experience from these 2 companies? Any other options I'm missing? I'm based in Cape Town and would prefer someone close by.

Then I'm also interested in what kind of gains one can expect? Of course it depends on the health of the motor, but just ball park figures? I've got a 2005 manual with 200 000km, egr, swirl flaps and cat removed.

Lastly any supporting mods that can be suggested? Not looking for the highest peak power, just something to keep the Gti's humble while still being a comfortable daily.

Thanks!

Hi,

I also have a 530D, i have 76mm from the middle to the end box, gives a nice sound. Also put a K&N airfilter in.
You can go cheap and get a italian box, costed me R2500 delivered to my door, 5 yrs ago, should give extra 25-35kw and improve fuel consumption, i purchased this for both my diesels, highly recommended, i know im gona get bashed for this by some guys, but best bang for your buck. (if u want u can try my one, haha)

If you want more power get a software tune, in my experience the places u mentioned should be good, but slightly cheaper places to consider would be Dynotech or infinity Performance.

Keep us updated :)

Hi, you can try out Xcede Performance, newly opened shop in Cape Town and vehicle is dyno-tuned as well. remap is always better as it is customed to your car rather than an off the shelf or limited adjustment. Minimum on a diesel (apart from what Danny pointed out) is breathing so that DP in place of the cats (not a gutted cat/empty cat) and a mid-pipe to the rear allows the car to be very happy.

eckHard, did you get the car mapped then? I use Kosie Swanepoel Developments and have good results from them. Cost is around R4k nowadays
