Looks awesome from the front! IMO lacks something at the rear... Bigger spoiler, carbon fibre... :dunno:

Main Points from lengthy press release:
There is a lot of ‘marketing lingo” in the 7 pages press release of the new BMW M5 Concept, so we decided to extract the useful information in a much cleaner format.

As we announced earlier today, BMW has previewed the new M5 Concept in front of a large group of journalists present at the M facility in Garching. The new M5 Concept is next heading for Shanghai, before its final stop at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September.

Most of the technical details around the M5 engine are unknown at the moment, but here are some the information we pulled out of the press release:

* Subdued styling perhaps more than the E60
* First of the new generation M cars to adopt a turbocharged engine
* Better dynamics with likely a smaller engine footprint compared to the V10
* Double clutch transmission with drivelogic system similar to M3
* Torque vectoring differential – is this diff similar to a two wheeled version of what’s on the X6 M?
* Start/stop tech to improve the M5s fuel economy
* Less of an integrated exhaust and rear diffuser
* Front apron, designed exclusively for the BMW Concept M5,features three large air intakes, the dimensions which are precisely oriented towards the high cooling requirement of the engine and its ancillary components.
* Black grille sporting a honeycomb design
* 20-inch forged rims are fitted with tyre size 265/35 ZR20 at the front and 265/35 ZR20 at the back
discreet rear spoiler located on the boot lid serves to optimise the car’s aerodynamics
* Active M Differential

We expect BMW to unveil more information on the new M5 as we approach the Shanghai Motor Show.

Damn that's hot! But +1 for lacking something at the back. I say smack on a descent spoiler

Boring :bawling:

Begging to be modded. Bigger wheels. Bigger body kit. A more agressive front spoiler. The rear needs bigger pipes...Go big or go home M5 :excited:

Go to a dealer an climb into any F10 and take pic, I am sure that is pretty much what it will look like :) (Of course their might be some slight changes in terms of trim and the cluster and so on)

I just wish I could find it in myself to like this car, the whole world seems to, but I can't seem to, the only reason its stands out is because it casts a shadow over everything else, quite literately, the thing is HUUUGE, so surprisingly not so much so on the inside though, actually felt kinda cramped to me (comparatively speaking of course, it is big inside, just not as big as you would expect).

I tend to agree, the F10 is about the same size as the E65...

Other then that, I frikken love it, those bonnet lines makes my blood flow :)

My girlfriend has just seen the clip and...likes the rear...and says the front looks...........wait for it.........JAPANESE!!! Ouch!!! Me, I think it's very nice, but does not give me a hard on. I must be getting old, on one hand really like the understated looks ( an M5 Q-car trademark ), but just feel it needs a little more aggression. No massive spoilers, etc.. just something, don't quite know, seems like it's missing. More worried about that engine tho, hope it will be a stonker!

I will reserve my opinion for when i get to see one in the flesh, so to speak. Pics dont give you the full picture, but as a whole, BMW can't pull off rear ends.

those pipes are too small on the car, the previous generation M5's all had those mean looking bigger pipes which suited it well.
the mirrors are the normal ones??? it needs M-spec mirrors like the M3.
Rear diffuser needs some carbon or black in it to give it the Sporty look...

I agree 100%
In fact, i cant get myself to like any new BMW these days with exception to the e92 M3 and the 1 series M coupe.
I mean, who the hell wants emials in their car.
It is meant for FU*ing driving . :banghead:
Guess that is the route the whole car industry is heading.

Awesome car
Needs Carbon rear diffuser, carbon lip and smoked tail lights just to break up the monotone colouring at the back
