I can understand how the M8 is quicker and how the M5 struggles with LC compared to the M8.

Why would BMW make a lower series faster? Even though a lot of performance cars like mercs and BMWs use the same motor, they run different software giving you more power as your car gets more expensive.

Driver me think.
If they had this driver against the m8 the m5 would still have probably lost...but with 0.1second time difference it would have been neck to neck.

Comes down to driver me thinks.

M5 in this video did consistent 11.1

Again, the M5 in the Video I posted is the identical M5 in the video against the M8.

Average human reaction time is 0.25 seconds. So the difference between the two is less than the time it takes to react to a random go signal.

Not unheard of for BMW to handicap a lower spec car to avoid stealing thunder from another model.

eg. Mcoupe S54 had a strangled exhaust to stop it being faster than the E46 M3.
