M5 style 343 20inch rims on an F80 M3

Hi everyone.

Curious to know if the 20inch f10 m5 style 343 rims will fit an F80 M3 or F82 M4?

Are the offsets a problem and if so what spacers need to be run?

I think there is a issue, as I wanted to do m4 ADV wheels and they wouldn't fit the f10, so I assume it's visa versa?

Only saw this now. I looked at doing the same awhile back. Everything indicates that it Miiight work but would be tight (I think I found someone state side that had done it). I decided that the best would be to try test fit a set but could never fine one to fit. I ended up going. Different route.

I’ll try find my sketch with the offset comparisons etc.

If you can find a set ask the person if you can test fit it first.

P.S. Make sure they are M5 rims and not M6 rims. M6 rims have a more aggressive offset at the rear and a lot of sellers don’t know that they are different and sell them as M5/M6 rims.

Thanks for the feedback bud. I've seen this thread on f80 post as well. Forgot to mention that I have CCB's, not sure if that changes fitment requirements. I've recently seen an f80 m3 with the 343 rims done at the 357. Required spacers which I'd prefer avoiding because you never know what BMW SA will choose to use against you to bomb motorplan.

Guess I'll decide if I come across a set at a decent price.

M4 wheels 19 in
20x9.0 ET29
20x10J ET40

M5 wheel 20 in
20x9.0J ET34
20x10J ET34

The m5 wheels will be 5mm inward from the fender and 5mm closer to the shock/spring in front
and will be 6mm further out to the fender and 6mm further from the shock/spring in the rear.

To have the same look as OEM, a 5mm spacer would suffice, i dont see the 5mm closer to the shock/spring causing an issue. Depending on the look you are going for you could add a 10mm up front and after measuring the rear possibly a 5mm.

There are guys overseas running the below (with no mention of fender work, but there could be )

19x10 ET25 275/30 (16mm further out, 8mm closer to struts)
19x11 ET35 305/30 (17mm further out, 7mm closer to struts)

20x9 ET 18 255/30 (11mm further out, 11mm further from struts)
20x10.5 Et 35 285/30 (11mm further out, 1mm closer to struts)
