Cool video. I must say though, the presenter is very obviously trying to mimic Jeremy Clarkson.

Nice vid.

Anyone with knowledge please educate me

This pure metal version is 29kw more powerful than the standard M5....so what the comp pack power rating?

Also what is (if they have) the power of ACS M5 from dealer.

I understand the limited implications for collectors and future value but for a chap wanting pure driving experience vs cost, whats better? The comp pack, ACS or pure metal.

Please don't tell me about JB4 etc aftermarket stuff (respect to tuners tho) I just wanna know for walk in buy ,keep MP and be fast
thks

The competition pack on the M5 has 11kw more than the stock version.

AFAIK, there is no ACS M5 (no chip either).

I can't comment as to which one is better, but, the pure metal m5s are a lot more expensive than the normal versions.
Although, you are getting more power, suspension upgrades, m drivers package, etc. I'm not too sure on the value of the comp pack.

With regards to the jb4 statement, and being fast, some guys do prefer a stock car, but what happens when you want more out of the car? Or a car, that was the manufacturers competitor, beats you in a tlgp. Its going to be a case of modding the car to make it go faster. Might not always be the case but that's just my thinking.

The ACS M5 chip is around R100K. It does exist and I've held one in my hands lol. has a rather large loom and plugs/taps into more spots than a JB4 by the looks of it. Gets you to +44kw and +60Nm torque. 2 year/60000km ACS warranty on drivetrain in the event that you have Motorplan issues which is I suppose what is factored into that price. You forego your motorplan on the drive train if you fit this under the newly imposed rules, but if you had fitted it earlier they will still honour it. I am not sure what happens warranty wise if you fit the chip at 60000km or for instance if you have 30000km on the car and no motorplan left.

CP is +11kw and R115K. Sway bars can be retrofitted for less than 15K (I think the bars were around R5K each and it is the front one that is very different). Exhaust has black tips and has a different note due to slightly different back boxes with fewer baffles. Still not like Akra, ACS etc. Suspension is different springs (-10mm). ACS springs are -26mm (pic below) which still aren't terribly aggressive. CP wheels are heavier than 343M and I don't like the looks (albeit from pics). Steering rack ratio is slightly different. Speed limiter removal costs as much as on a normal M5 AFAIK. I don't think it is that great for the money but for someone looking to turn it up 'half a notch' and not do exclusive or bespoke items for each of these elements, I think it is fine. I'd actually rather do the carbon ceramics or MPE instead for the price.
