m5 opinions plz

hey guys,i love the e39 m5.what do you guys think about them? expensive? any common problems? how do they drive?

I got a M5 e39 she runs like a bat out of hell but when she needs parts your pockets must be deep .... but other than that u will love the car and the attention u get from other road users .... i find it had to think if i should sell wot will i buy that can make me happy like the M5

Never owned one or having had a drive in one...but when i do spot one, life just ceases for a moment...pure enjoyment to see one in impecable condition on the Rd.....:thumbsup::thumbsup:

I had a e34 m5 for two or so years. Did hardly any mileage so I can't comment on maintanance. It is such a pleasure to own. Mine was bought new by Serge Damseaux. Unfortunately had to sell due to lack of storage space. Sad day.

ok heres my opinions on the car so far and ive only had it for 2 months now.
fan bloody tastic car.expensive to maintain but all i have to do is plant the petrol and then that smile that don was refering to jumps back onto you face

common probs

vanos rattle(but all vanos bmw suffer from this)
lower and upper control arms.(i replaced mine 1 week ago)
maf senors(recently replaced)
cam positions sensors tend to go after a while along with 02 sensors
lcd cluster missing pixels
thermostat probs
check all of the above before buying and make sure that things like brakes etc are good and have enough life left in them.

like i said,its expensive to maintain but what a pleasure,heavy on the juice if your heavy on the foot,then again,if you are buying it then youre obviously not gonna drive it slow imp:

the very first time i took my m5 for a spin the car was on empty.filled her up and drove behind don to his house.when we had a nice open piece i floored it.... :shocked::shocked::shocked: :excited::excited::excited: that is what i was like.and luckily i had peed before i took delivery of the vehicle because i swear i would have pissed my pants.my leg was shaking after that run and don reckoned i was smiling like a school girl
