Howsit guys,

We ran bearings on a M43 motor and weighing up our options.
1. Rebuild
2. swap

Its my brothers wife's car, so no need for more horsepower.
Just need the cab back on the road ASAP!

Any info or help will be greatly appreciated!

I assume it big end ?

Did it damage the crank ?

Pity with a scrapyard motor, they are so old by this point, that you dont know what your getting....

Compression test..

Can you do these bearings without pulling the motor through the sump ?

I havent had a look at the motor my self yet, as Far as I know it is big ends.
They drove the car with out oil :hammerhead:

They phoned me and asked me why the motor would be making a clank clank clank sound... sigh death

Unfortunately trustable mechanics are sooo hard to find!
One guy quoted 20k and the next 4k :dropjaw:
The bill from the 4k guy is probably going to end up at 20k either way.

I ran bearings on my turbo Civic because of oil starvation ( time to fit a baffeled sump ) and that we are fixing our selves, but honda V Bmw suffice to say im not game to attempt the rebuild myself
