M4 traction issues

You need to be gradual will the initial delivery. Don't just stamp all the way down to get it going. Use gradual pressure to step on it. The car should snake a bit but once the grip is found you should be good in 2nd and 3rd. Or maybe change the tyre to the super sticky cup sports, they grip super well on hook up but beware on wet roads

Honestly

This is such a nice problem to have!

:roflol: I agree. This F8x are exciting cars even my 250kg heavier F83 can be a handful. I can imagine the lighter F80 and F82 are worse "i.e. more fun".

I think the most frightening thing is if the car goes sideways when launching. Gonna have to do multiple tests to perfect it. On my M135i I could get consistant 5.2/5.3 0 -1 00 times with out even trying hard, with a proper launch it could do 4.9/5.0. The M4 is not so easy even the procedure for activating launch control can get you into big trouble. I need an open parking area where there are no cops or a skid pan:tiptoe:

My brother in law has an M4 and has the exact same problem (I totally agree it is a good problem to have) He also has a GTR and it almost feels boring to drive after the fun of the rear wheel drive M. Yes the M can be scary but that's half the point.

At the rock a few weeks back he raced a Golf 7R, the 4 wheel drive really jumps him hard, he did manage to come back and win before the 200m finish line. But later that night on normal road the Golf 7 killed us from a robot as we just spun for days and didnt go anywhere!

Exact same issue here... I think some toyo's R888s would fix our traction issues

I learned very quickly not to stamp on pedal in first gear... once in second I gradually floor it but once pedal reaches the floor it will lose traction in 2nd. Wet roads r a def no no.

Did he use launch control against the Golf R? Modded Rs are strong off the line but F8Xs pull hard once it gets going

Hey guys

I have a stock 2015 m4. I am having trouble getting the power down during hard acceleration first 3 gears especially.(too much wheel spin)
I was wondering if any guys with m4s have had the same issue.
I have tried replacing tyres, alignment, balancing with no improvement.
Would appreciate some advice. Thanks

On a serious note, I have the same issue.
It's actually worse than a F10 M5

Don't know hey, I have traction issues with normal town driving / partial throttle. DTC comes on like a Christmas tree, and all is in comfort. These M turbo cars need semis at the back.

These new M cars are very much hands full the way you guys are explaining the traction issues you have. Would've thought the traction control would at least help a bit but no luck. must be nice fun though :thumbs::thumbs:

At the Rock yes he launched with launch control and on the road just a normal launch. Once going the M kills it but off the line those R's are impressive!
Semi slick are def the way to go!

New m550i is 4wd for this reason.. faster than f10 m5..
The new m5 will also be 4wd i think..

X drive..

Audi started it and all are following due to massive power.

M4 will clearly decimate the R on the run, but these are nasty buggers from take-off.
Good thing they don't make GTI's in 4wd, otherwise those knobs will be trying their luck as well against your M4

this is a very real issue , real dangerous too if you dont know what u doing , i heard of an m driver who wrote his car off the first week cause of this .

many oversees guys go for wider better tyres ,other than that you really gotta nurse the pedal as it can bring the ass out anytime even entering a circle at low speed just taping the accelerator makes it slide , very different animal indeed .

New M5 is indeed 4WD but a new type called M X drive, the current X drive has been around for a while... M X drive allows you to use the car like a RWD car by switching to 2WD Mode. Audi has not perfected that, their quattro has zero rear wheel drive bias even if they say some of the RS cars have it.
