Anyone got them fitted, Titan or stainless .
I'd like go know more about their weight differences but more importantly ....
Is there any DRONE if the primaries are removed but race resonators and secondaries remain .

Specifically for the e92 m3.. But e46 ///M feedback welcomed too.

X-pipes are primerily installed to compensate for sound inconsistancies between the two banks of V engines

Years ago we had Holden V8 running i the French Touring Car Championship with sidepipes sticking out left and right of the car (one for each cylinder bank)
The sound of the car was so "sick" that GM marketing decided that we ca not run the car like this as the car sounded ill and that would damage the image of the brand.

We designed a new exhaust with x-pipes and voila we got a great V8 sound and all was in order.

As for the "drone" you need to do tests where the x-pipe is positioned in your exhaust system to avoid that nasty sub resonance drone tone

I've got a ss x-pipe and the weight is less not by much but its definitely lighter than the OEM system. That said i'm comparing the entire system, so the huge back box is considered.

With regards to drone, i'm with Rolf on this. You'd have to test one out or get one fabricated to eliminate drone. All said mine doesn't drone, i get a deep throaty sound at lower rpm and a devilish schreek higher in the rev range.

That's grate guys... Cos unlike everything else in the UK, theres a national distributor of performance exhausts who does does bespoke work .
Had a chat to him this morning and explained my concerns re drone and he said that's what they will focus in during the build.
Cobra performance exhausts in Sheffield. 30% cheaper than the Akra, which I'd like but feedback from other uses say that the adapters between Akra and M Performance is difficult to get and sounds weird .
Nothing decided yet. Thanks
