M3 vs C63 AMG-S

Mercedes C63 = Loud, Big Power, Not so good Handling and doesnt put the power down well.
In my Opinion More of a Posers Car. And really lacks driver feel and involvement. Plus Auto Only :thumbdo:

BMW M3 = Not that Loud, and I still prefer the 4.0 V8 Engine with a full exhaust, Good Power, Great handling, great Driver response and feel.

A real drivers car like every other M3 built before it. No better feeling than sliding that back out and bringing it back in line. Any Real Drivers Car should be Manual.

Yes I have driven the 6.2 litre v8 C63. both coupe and sedan versions. And both werent stock.

I drive it like I stole it. Driven then new M3 as well. Didnt like the exhaust tone tho. But pulls Hard.

One thing is for certain. Merc doesn't have all these bearing issues. It is a more desirable car around the world and then have no problems building everyday cars to supercars. You would be lying to yourself to not see that BMW lost the plot over the years..

I have been contemplaiting to get into an sl65 for ages. But in this thread. I would definitely choose the s63 over the m3.

BMW always goes all out with their M cars and risks reliability because of that. I haven't seen this mistake with merc.

I have a feeling this is all about the 'Merican market. The only thing yanks understand is displacement, and Mercedes is giving it to them.

This is exactly what I was getting at, thanx for clearing it up!
A lot of people underestimate these cars, both on track and straight line.
I've driven my car around Zwartkops and was pleasantly surprised!
Ok I did have some secondhand semis on, but still. I was able to sit right behind the latest Porsche Carrera S, and my car coped perfectly fine, other than those stupid overheating issues!

Ok here we go.

http://www.carmag.co.za/video-gallery/drag-race-bmw-m3-dct-vs-mercedes-benz-c63-amg-s/

SPOILER ALERT
The video makes little sense to me. I see the M3 ahead in the beginning and when they change the camera angle, the C63S is ahead. Considering the power and torque difference, I think the M3 stood up well.

13.7 and 13.4 on the 1/4mile, Damn in that case even my old e46 should give both a run for their money lol:rollsmile:

Car magazine tests are always dodgy. :roflol:

But the merc is 400kg more fully loaded
Waiting for the ring times.
The merc is not designed for a small track like that

400kgs more but has two more cylinders and 1000cc more displacement
should be much faster for what it has yet it's not
Just shows how good bmw engineering is

That whole line of "Merc has a bigger motor etc." is getting tiring.
What everyone needs to understand is that the car has a specific power output for its segment.
If you really want to know what that 4.0 litre biturbo is capable of, wait until the new E63, SL63 etc etc comes out, they will all be having the same motor.

why should it be getting tiring it is a fact
merc cannot make a 3.0TT to match the m3 3.0TT output or else they would
its like taking a f10 m5 motor and putting it in the f80 m3
you get what iam saying?
with all that being said mercs 4.0TT makes only 45bhp more than bmw 3.0TT

Merc had the most powerful production 2.0 Litre turbo motor, are currently the best turbo package in F1, what makes you think they can't make a powerful 3.0TT?
Maybe you right, they can't. Or maybe they just aren't interested in making a different motor for each model. What they doing is a lot more cost effective in my eyes

Kimeran, Merc can make a powerful 3.0tt V6. They will soon release the new 3.0 TT v6 in South Africa that has a claimed output of of over 360hp which easily bests BMW's infamous 3.0 TT. The all new c450 amg will arrive in SA early next year.

Yeah looking forward to seeing that.
Sadly I think it will target people that want a luxurious car with some power, and have no sporty feel whatsoever!

Mercedes seems to have forgotten how to make good performance gearboxes, I test drove an A45 last week and my word that double clutch gearbox is rubbish compared to DCT...it doesn't downshift on que, or at all sometimes...and still they introduce the C63 with wet-clutch gearboxes, Wtf?

Of course iam stirring:tiptoe::tiptoe:
