M3 ute/pickup

Like I said before, At the current rate that BMW is going I wouldn't be surprised if they release a bakkie and a MPV next. I would just have thought that they would do the MPV first.

If this is of course an early April fool's joke, then it is really good to see that BMW is not wasting the money they make from their massively inflated prices on total junk.

Who would have thunk it possible for them to try it with the M3 of all cars. Of course I am not seeing the big picture here BMW of course need a car to compete on the market with the Lumina SS here in SA and the holden stuff under. I mean just how much money is BMW loosing every time someone want some keep thrills and buys a SS because there is no R800k BMW version of the same thing.

 now I don't know about that one...
seriously, if you going to make a Ute, or bakkie, or LDV, whatever you want to call it,
I really don't think bmw would chop an M3, more likely build something from scratch,
and most probably make it a front wheel, electric vehicle... :mmm:

To be honest i really don't like it... And also think they shouldn't even think of entering that market

looks like they just chopped off behind the drivers without a redesign with that roof line... looks too angular.

That is not a good attempt, but remember that there are big segments of buyers for whom a pickup is a lot more desirable that a sedan. You still cannot drive that on a gravel road, but the hybrid idea is there.

I think it's one of those once off BMW's that they build to see what it might actually be like. Much like the E34 M5 Convertible that they never put into production.

From what I read its was a M3 Convertible thats doing some testing. They just made a little makeshift roof so the driver doesnt freeze to death.

Valid call. There does seem to be a joint between the roof and the top of the windscreen.

But then again, the cover does extend all the way to the back (eg no trunk lid).

The line from the door to the tail light is awfully straight. No imagination there...
