To do a M3 engine transplant will probably end up costing you as much as buying a M3, its a rather expensive mod to do.

R30-35k depending on condition, or so I've found. You don't need the gearbox, you just wouldn't have an over-driven 6th gear, otherwise your 1-5 gears are the same (unless I'm mistaken?). You'd need the ECU, harnesses, blah blah blah, won't cost you as much as buying an M3, you'd just wish you did after the effort.

Would rather do a rotary swap then for half the cost(No offence to BMW fans,I`m one too,but power is power)

And engine rebuilds every 80'000km are engine rebuilds every 80'000km.

What do those engines go for?more or less?

Hi there, after i read your mail i went into Junk mail and found two M3 motors for sale, the 3.0 and the 3.2 German spec.Their prices range from R19,000 to R25,000.

Really hoping your'e gonna go thru with this, if not, a complete turbo kit sells for R25,000 (Bolt on kit) and i'm not sure what boost it's good for.Refer to Gumtree/BMW.This is for a new kit. E36 235,238.

Get a 2JZ supra twin turbo engine fitted for max power for buck! please dont stone me for this post! LOL
And please dont buy 2nd hand M3 engines localy! just ask your self why the engine is not in the car anymore?
Overseas i understand as some countries only drive a car for so long or so much miles! Here we rape them and then try to rip someone off to buy them again!

Import S54 engines R52k at Japan Auto! but surely on the long run will cost you less to maintain!

Plus for this type of mod you need the M3 ECU or fuel management but be gaurenteed it will never be an M3 again without Factory ECU!!
There are some Nice E36 M3's out there bud! Mine is not up for sale but R180k then im sqaure.. LOL

They are between R7500 and R10000 complete with turbos!
So you need to move mountings, adaptor for gearbox, fuelmanagement , small exhaust mod, intercooler and bobs your uncle!
I read about people that easily get 600bhp out of stock motors with little more boost and tuning!
Change the turbos and bigger cooler and you can look at 900bhp!
There is also a 1500bhp bolt on mod for that engine!

Go search Youtube for E36 2jz and look for a guy hes user name is Msupra!
