M3 or C63AMG...?

Not sure if you guys have watched the 5th gear gear comparison but the AMG is a bit if a wild brute and a handful with all that power on tap. Sounds amazing though . The M is an all rounder with a perfect balance of power and handling... You did mention that that handlings a factor.
If a car was developed on a track for the track then you've got a perfect road going machine.

Go for the M3, having owned both the C63 is not nearly as a drivers car as the M3. In comparison IMO the C63 feels like a fat couch that goes a little quicker in a straight line, it does not corner for sh!t and give little driver feedback. The M3 on the other hand is precise and accurate, and the V8 feels more responsive, mainly due to the C63's lazy gearbox.

Good luck

Performance: Straightline drag's - C63 is quicker than the M3. Corner's/Twisty's M3 no doubt.
Sound: C63 for that raw guttural V8 sound, M3 at high rev's is pure sex and with a Akropovic or Eissenmann exhaust probably pound for pound with a stock C63.
Economy:M3 is more economical than a C63 on tires and petrol :=):
Style/Exclusivity:4 door M3's are actually quite rare, not as common as the coupes so here I give it to the M3 .. just, the C63's are all saloon's.

So my tally is.
C63 1 M3 2 and one tie.

but either way both are beast's.
Go test drive both a few times but then again this may confuse you more :=):
Good Luck!

+1, nicely put!

C63 bud...

Have a look in the Xcede Section, they have managed to extract almost 500hp at the coast from a C63. The same car, at altitude dynod at 410hp.

C63 - 4 Door
M3 - Coupe

The 4 door M3 looks like an afterthought, and just doesn't say anything to me. I don't even drool when I see one. If you were looking Coupe wise, the M3 definitely.

C63 is a monster, and for your wifes daily drive, a 600nm car will always be a more easier drive than the M's 400 odd. If you're looking for a car that you can do drags in that odd weekend and put a smile on your face, then I say C63 hands down.

The C63 is the hooligan of the two cars, and definitely perfect for drags!!!

Trust Jerez to bring this thread back from the dead. Nice to read again, but i've got no more comments on the topic

The only real driving experience I've had from the two is through Gran Turismo. :fencelook: With that said, I found the C63 less communicative and twitchy - feeling the need to oversteer at every apex. The M3 on the other hand felt planted and light on its feet. A bit sad that i'm using a simulator as a comparo but hey! Best i can do, for now lol

Go race them in a straight line, get a decent opponent. Then swap cars. Let me know on the outcome

C63 is my vote :) I manage to ride in them both every weekend. You feel that power! It is a beast of note.

For everyday use with the occasional TLGP the C63 wins hands down . For a weekend car that is going to do a lot of spirited driving, I'll choose the M3 any day and i wouldn't let the wife drive it :fencelook:

AMG Mercs tend to be more softer and comfortable and as JC would put it "they soothe your brow" so they make a very nice daily, on the other hand the ///M's are a bit on the "rough" side they need to be grabbed by the scruff of the neck to get joy out of them.

I said it before and i'll say it again I'm yet to be beaten by a C63, pp or what ever.

Trust me the e9x M3's problem is that its too refined in comparison to previous versions. I've driven a C63 long distance and even the owner told me before I even drove the car, that its uncomfortable on a long run. Merc stiffened up the suspension way too much in order to compete with BMW, even with the M3's EDC set to sport its softer than the 63. Those seats in the C63 are great to look at and offer great support when cornering, but start to become very uncomfortable after a while. Now you know why BMW's M cars don't have fancy looking race seats and only offer them as an option.

My 2cents worth, but i've read the pretty much the same from journalists.
