@Ash:

to put it bluntly, the first part of your post is :bs:

sorry for being so blunt, but it had to be said (no hard feelings I hope)

The second part of your post - well personally I don't believe in living in the past. Merc has a cracker with the C63. I love BMW but I am not blinded by any brand. I appreciate other manufacturers masterpieces ... and the C63 AMG is one of them imo.

I think it comes down to personal preference , but a BMW M3 owner knows a C63 will drop him for dead .

:blab::blab::blab:

obviously cheery picking here, but all you guys are too

m3, 2.6 seconds a lap quicker (on a 1m25sec lap, that is a huge gap)
and ahead on acceleration until 90mph

but as I said before, none of you (me included) would be able to perfectly launch both cars consistantly (if you swapped between them the whole day, the results would be 50/50)

Come on guys, lets be realistic. It doesn't mean that the C63 with 27kw more will have the M3 for breakfast, lunch and supper. Lets talk power to weight ratio. The M3 has the Merc licked.

But seriously i'm yet to find out how a C63 will leave me for dead. The 7G Tronic is no match for the M-DCT. Out for the box, the launch control justs catapults the M3 ahead, while the C63's 600N.m burns up its tyres.

Sure like me you're also entitled to your opinion, so if you feel its :bs: to you then its fine with me. But then again, how many M3 owners will pick the C63?. Have a look at the previous posts and make your decision.

Kabal at your post I meant in 0 - 100kph , but now I'm just confused , I take it back  Awesome read there , and Personal Preference remains

Problem is there is a C63 AMG PP which sends the C63 way ahead again. The joys of putting in a 6.2ltr engine

Very interesting thread for 2012.

Since we have all stated things "bluntly": Personally i have no interest or excitement for both cars. I would not buy a NON boosted car in that price range no matter the cute looks or sound...

The last time i was excited about a NA car was with the 325is and of course the e46 M3 and without question the 335 continued my excitement and fascination with the BMW brand.

Until the boosted M5 and M3 reach our shores, the 335 in my book ranks higher than the current M3 V8 and the big sounding C63. :joy:

Agreed 100%, and thats why I have a 135i and not a C63 or M3. My apologies for being so blunt, but at the time I felt it was necessary.

Whatever you decide on, the M3 or the C63, you won't be disappointed.

Boosted over N/A...Nevaaaaaaa...:blab: see one thing you are guaranteed is that sooner or later your turbo will blow, you'll loose power through boost leaks you cant seem to find, high pressure fuel pump issues, getting heat soaked after a few hard runs, you name it and when all this happen , the N/A //Ms will pass you for everyday your boosted car spend at the stealership:biglol:

I def wanna to get the C63 before I got my M3, from personal view it was 4 doors, nice sound and FAST:rollsmile:

But the very nice Merc dealership in Sandton wouldn't let me test drive it so I was like:yuck: I guess I would have been, actually I know for sure that I will be driving a C63 if they had let me test drove the car, bad move:tease:

I needed a daily drive car, so it needs comfort, practical, and good mileage(yes yes I have my flame suits on haha:roflol:) But surely the 4.0L DCT is better than 6.2 right:thumbs:

Also the MP was very important to me, with high performance car like those, you need the dealership to cover you if something goes wrong. I don't think the Mercs do that right? I think is after a year or 2 you need to pay a percentage of service/repair:fencelook:

I know a lot of guys here are saying about the track time and handling, but seriously I don't think majority of people who owns the M3 will ever find out what the M can really do as a sports car. Driving fast in a straight line and doing burn outs will always impress your friends more than track time and handling, that's my view:sorry:

From personal point of view, the 4 door C63(face lift of course) def looks better than the 4 door M3:inlove:

Agreed with TCal..

Looks wise M3 coupe > C63 (actually almost anything on the road)

I think you need to seriously drive both these cars before making a decision like this...

Guys I'm in the market for a new car...
I had a little girl 5 months ago so I need a car with 4 doors as my wife will use it as a daily drive ( I drive a bakkie leker) and the 135 is a bit of a mission at the moment!!

So my question...what will you buy a secondhand 63 or M3?
I enjoy modding cars very much and will be modding my next car aswell, N/A or blown don't know yet but modded she will be! Both cars can be modded but I'm into Drags and Street racing so handeling is a plus but not a must, what car do you think will be the beter buy, I know this forum will be biast but so be it...

My friend has a beautifull C63. It's a nice car but not so nice for family purpose. the car's ride is verry hard and the engine noise in the car is loud so long trips is not that much fun. Not for your children or maybe wife.
I dont know if the M3 is better.
Performance, well, you can never get 600NM from an M3 without supercharging.
Only problems with the Merc so far was 4dead ignotion coils, final drive packed up and the engine is using oil after 140 000Km. Mercedes told him it is Mobil ONE oil doing it but we know it can not be.

Not an easy one no!

Baby girl & wife to drive it during the day, I would say then the vehicle that will suit your wife the most comfourtable & safest to drive on a daily basis?

I'm sure you will enjoy anyone of the two to the max anyway!

Have fun!
