M3 or C63AMG...?

I think that if the missus is going to use it a lot with a baby in tow, then the four doors of the C63 is probably going to be a better choice. And much as I love the M3, I have to admit that the Merc is very, very nice indeed.

The M3 in sedan shape is also hot , looks like its on steroids but if straight line speed is what you after , then definitely the C63 is the way you should go .

If I wanted 4 doors, I'd take the C63.
If I wanted 2 doors, I'd take the M3 coupe.

This is rather unexpected on a BMW Forum. But in all honesty, I think BMW is falling behind and getting rather boring at the higher end of the scale. And BMW division has just been denied building their own car (like AMG built the SLS and Audi had a chance to build the R8). According to the head of BMW M, they are focusing on implementing Efficient Dynamics, because that's what M drivers want?

He also said BMW already built Supercars namely the M3 and M5.

I dunno, I think they need to make some changes or things are going to get rather dull.

BMW need a Halo car.

Yep this happend the day BMW decided that it was okay to build a ///M3 which is considerably down on power compared to its main rival Mercedes benz, they, knew about this 6.2 litre monster of an engine Merc had produced, but decided that 309kw was just enough to match 336kw...So it handles better? So what?? we drive from robot to robot, last i checked and the fact is, the ///M will get smoked everytime. We never had that with the E46 //M3 during its reign...:nonono:

2012 is looking to be BMW's year. Once they release specs on the new M3, we will know for sure.

meh :thumbdo:

to me, I really dont care if the C63 can do 0-100km/h in 0.2 or so seconds faster than the m3 (and I guarentee that 99% of the people here couldnt even get those times). besides all this robot to robot talk, and then at the same time, people go bos at people speeding in 60zones (where robot to robot pretty much is)

for me, the only "advantage" that a C63 has over a E90 M3 is the sound, and that is subjective too.

in terms of engineering, ie things I like, the M3 is superior to the C63 in every way. it's monster of an engine is pretty poor really. 54kw/ltr vs 77kw/ltr

the fact of the matter is, as an all round car, that works on the track too, the M3 smacks the shit out of C63..

maybe I posted this cause there is too much C63 love in here :fencelook: :roflol:

I think this comment is a little unfair. Mercedes decided to use one engine for an entire range of their cars, which in my opinion and theirs was a good business decision. That same engine is capable of a lot more power.

I look at it like this, driving on the road in my M3, and a C63 pulls up beside me, would I feel a bit intimidated? Yes! But turn that around, if I were in the C63, would I feel intimidated by the M3? No!

Haha, funny thing is that i'm yet to be beaten my a C63 and that all of the BMW guys that pick the C63 over the M3, happen to drive a model of BMW that is of a lower rank to the M3:roflol:

Call me what you want but i feel a bit of jealousy starting up. :fencelook:

I don't get this, why feel intimidated by the C63? I'm sure every owner of a M3 could have bought a C63 instead of the M3. If we M3 drivers feel intimidated by C63 then won't we need to be selling our inferior vehicles?

Its not just a preferred choice...

When you buy an M3 you not just buying another fast sports car. You're buying a piece of history, as well as its heritage.

The M3 was never just a one hit wonder. It has earned its name in the history, starting way back with the E30 M3. Every model made proved its worth on both street and track. Merc just got lucky with a one hit wonder. Do you still hear of the C32 or C55 for that matter? All were just over shadowed by the M3.

Mercedes Benz always play catch up with BMW in the performance game. Shoving a 6.2lr motor into a compact sedan, ain't gonna cut it.
