M3 on fire

So as we all know, Durban was the place to be this past weekend, loads of parties all over the city and of course the Durban July. Lat night was the annual Pop Bottles party. As I understand the story, two young guys took one of their parents E92 BMW M3 down to Durban from Jhb for the weekend, clearly a recipe for disaster.

Last night at The Pop Bottles party the friend of the kid who's parent owns the M3 asked him for the keys to the M3, long story short: he took some girls to the M3, pulled it out of the parking, went and had a revving competition with a Mercedes Benz C63 AMG, the exhaust apparently overheated and with that, the M3 met its end and was engulfed in flames, the fire engine arrived 2minutes too late.

Some pics of the M3 as it was burning below.

You can also check twitter #M3burning it was trending earlier today, shocking stuff, luckily nobody was killed

This has nothing to do with trolling BMW's. Its about reckless children, yes, children wrecking their parents cars and their parents contributory negligence thereto.

The only one not to blame here is the poor M3...

Fair enough these idiot children were doing dumb things, but what is baffling is how did this m3 catch fire. Surely an exhaust is designed to withstand high degrees of heat, especially considering the m3 was built for track use.

Obliviously the exhaust will get hot in track conditions but you never hear of m3's been burnt because of over revving:nonono:.

Something does not add up, I have a hunch it its probably electrical:idea:
