Had my foirst real race now with full engine power and first mods on suspension and wheel alignment (all not right for me yet...), still a long way to go:

Had the fastest lap time in my class, won the first race but struggled with the other guys in race 2 (reverse grid) and became 5.th only.

Lot of work was done on the car last weeks:
Stiffer springs front and back
Aluminium lower control arms, fully adjustable, bent hub changed
Tried new settings of front axle in Zwartkops
Found out that standard brake pads only last 25 rounds at Zwartkops and 30 in Phakisa
EBC yellow last long in the back!
Kumho slicks are loosing grip quick if heated up several times
Lowered the seat again, much better to drive now

Had a great race day at Zwartkops on Thursday:
Managed to get 6.th in qualifying, 2.nd in Race 1 and 4.th in race 2 with reversed grid again, overall second!

There are still a lot of things to be done on that car!

Well done Andreas you were looking good out there..

If you would like to study your times or if you dont have them they can be found here:

Just be careful of the EBC with those fancy brakes you have. My EBC Yellow stuff is wearing out my discs as they are too hard but they do work well and have lasted and considering their price compared to others they are great.

Are you using Yellow Stuff?

Also please no offence Moranor but i dont think your discs and pads get the same kind of abuse as a full time race car. Maybe every now and again but for example mine are never driven gently unless on a cool down lap. Even on the warm up lap I accelerate and ride them a lot to heat them up.

I do admit that my discs are cheapies though. R600 at Volkspares two years ago! :biglol:

was on Red stuff now on Yellow stuff I have 286mm front disks so they get plenty hot on track days :) I will have to look at larger disks soon because my pads are wearing out fast now with track time

try slotted fronts next time you replace im sure you will save money long term with them

Thanks for your input guys!

I had the yellow ones already on my M3E30 in Germany for years, they were (compared to other pads) quite gentle to the discs! The front ones look very godd after I changed them, the back ones are also ok now. The original pads from BMW last one track day, then they are gone!

EBC Yellow is not a real race pad....

My intension is to go back to standard M3 callipers, proper discs and pads. Is more than enough for our ten rounds...

I would not take slotted discs on the E36, normal ones last longer!

I've had no luck with EBC.....Performance friction or Endless pads work excellent but are pricy.

I am using the yellow ones already a while and never had issues. There are for sure not as good as PF or even Endless, which are both a LOT more expensive!

I had my car on Saturday on scales to get a proper corner weight, did not really work (approx.25ltr. fuel and myself on the driver seat):

Any ideas to get it better? The left front side is already a lot higher than the ride side...changing the opposide back also did not help that much...

looks to me like the RF and LR need to come down to equalize the cross weight if the FR is getting too high?
