M3 CSL hillclimb crash

I was really enjoying that vid, that 6 cylinder sound is mesmerising! i also noticed the braver the guy got but i man, thats only human as you go on, you tend to throw things a bit more out.

Anyways, it was really oak at the ending however...i want an E46 M now!

That accident started at about 2min30secs into the video......prior to that, no tyre squeals of significance.

Dude got braver and braver. More and more tyre squeal...

Then he ran out of road and talent all at the same time.:skit:

Sad end to an awesome car.

Was thinking exactly the same thing watching it - starts off very sedate really and 2/3's through the pace starts to pick up as "confidence" grows... all it took was to put a left rear on a bumpy part, suspect even a bit of the grass and zippidy do...!! it happens so fast and its very narrow....

I am left with the notion that pushing an E46 M3 CSL is a bit like grabbing a mamba by the tail. You may be lucky and quick enough 99% of the time to avoid getting bitten.....

That leaves 1% margin for error....and that 1% WILL kill you:rollsmile:

Serious question though, what level of "nanny" does the CSL have? I mean can it be switched off altogether or is there always some safety net? Based on that accident it appears not but to be fair, with the margin for error on the width of that road, one could probably come unstuck in a 316i with similar results

E46 M3 + traction control off is fun, the car tells you exactly what its doing...pushing it to the limit and under estimating the power is what gets you into trouble

I know....

You have the so called M-Trackmode in the CSL which allows certain sliding angles! The second step is switch everything off....what I NEVER do with the CSL!

The Trackmode allows a lot and if you drive nice and smooth you are also as quick like without any rescue service! But you can not loose the car completely if the talent is finished....:coolShake:

TYhe grip of the back tyres is amazing, no sliding at all until he is loosing it completely....hmmm.....have you recognised the rain drops on the windscreen? It started raining....Oil/water on the track?

Wow, that went bad really fast! He was a bit on the jerky/aggressive side on the throttle, but that bumpiness was all that was needed to upset the car. Sad!!
