M3-Car just switches off??

Hey guys,any help or advice would be appreciated!
I have an e46 M3 SMG,whenever I start it up the idle normally stays at 1000rpm,now it drops and picks up continuosly on its own until the car just dies off(also happens when the car is stationary,especially on cold days).There is a strong smell of fuel also inside and outside the car for a short time when the car is warming up then it goes away.I checked for any leaks but cant seem to find any.Is there anyone that has experienced this or knows the cause? :dunno:

Air intake system/vacuum system - leaks
Ignition system
Throttle actuator control (TAC) motor
Evaporative emission (EVAP) canister purge valve
Engine compression
Engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor
Intake air temperature (IAT) sensor
Mass air flow (MAF) sensor
Fuel pressure/delivery rate/fuel pressure regulator
Injectors
Crankshaft position (CKP) sensor/camshaft (CMP) sensor
Engine speed (RPM) sensor
Engine management system - connections/wiring
Engine control module (ECM)

Good luck! Remember this is a recommended sequence of trouble shooting.

If you get a diagnostics done it'll show any faults stored on the ECU,this could be your best option if you can't find any airleaks

Thanks guys,Yeah I think im just gonna take it to have the diagnostic check done and then try and sort it out.Anyone know a reliable place in Durban to get this done?or should i just take it to the guys at SMG?
