Hi everyone.

Has anyone extended their motor-plan on a M135i?.
What was the cost of it?

I'm deciding if I should extend or sell?.

I'm currently on 65k on the clock and did my quote last month. Total came to R24 000 for the year. The main plan only ends in September so it can only go up from there :)

Just as an indication for you.

Why extend or sell? Why not extend or not?

My car is going on 2 years now out of plan....it hasn't spontaneously exploded as yet, ha ha

But yes thats the price more of less to extend. Between 20k and 25k. I dindt feel it was worth it given how reliable these cars are. Service yearly or at 10 000km...
Just my charge pipe so far has broken after plan.

At R24k a year I don't think it is viable to extend it. These cars should cost significantly less than R24k a year on maintenance

On my m135i the first year to extend it cost me 14k and that was only to extend time and the motor plan was still to 100k, the second year i needed to extend time and km's the best price i could get was 45k and i knew someone at head office trying to help me get a better price

As far as i'm aware you can only extend by 1 year at a time, or thats what they just told me

Ridiculous prices. On my X3, they're charging R23k for time alone (covering you for an additional year or 100'000km). Then it's R33k to add just 5000km i.e. 1 year of 105'000km.

I honestly feel that with the N55 engine (I've had 2 m135i's in the past), they're solid and will not give issues (unless heavily modded!). With my X3, which is a 2.0d, I'm leaning towards not extending, and just taking out an extended warranty (after-market). With regular servicing, this may work out cheaper (hopefully haha!).

Good luck

Howzit,
It's worth checking the Valvetronic system in the head, check for wear on the cam lobes of the 3rd camshaft and your oil nozzle into the head as well as your servo motor. Check out your diff mount bushing as well before deciding to extend or sell. Keep in mind you'll probably have to do a gearbox service at the end of the standard Motorplan.
There are shops that can do it cheaper at the same labour standards.
If heavily modified you can run through spark plugs and coilpacks.
These cars are pretty solid but it would be in your best interests to shorten the service interval. All that is speaking from experience, hope it helped!
