Another weekend another detail, and as the title suggests, this M135i came in for the aerodynamic benefits - a smoother paint job equals less air resistance and drag which then equates to a faster car... :bravo:

The Premise:

Shikar aka DVST8 aka DSTV dropped this puppy off for some new car paint protection work, as well as some enhancement. In all honesty, this car was already in top condition - he had the car clayed and waxed as soon as he took delivery of this beast, and that already was a good platform to begin with. Also, he asked me to give the interior some love, as he saw the work that was done on Elton's car.

Aside from light to mid swirling, the paint was a non-issue. I didn't really bother with before shots, the swirling was so light that my camera couldn't even pick it up in pictures (I'm not using a DSLR) :flyfun:

Products and Tools worth mention:

The usual suspects came out to play here, such as my Flex, and the obligatory S3 Gold, this time in an XXL configuration. Also the use of Auto Finesse Tripple.

Scholl S3 Gold XXL:

This stuff is epic! Besides cutting like a hot knife through butter when used with a machine, I decided to give this stuff a go by hand, here are the results:

The picture above shows the door trim - the trim piece on the left was treated to a polish with S3 Gold and a Lake Country Orange pad. The trim piece on the right was left untouched. I then decided to give the S3 a go, using an AF Dual foam hand polishing pad on the right hand side, this is what I got:

Applying medium pressure, on the White side of the pad, I was able to achieve the finish on the right, as above. Though not perfect, I was impressed to see how well it worked, even when applied by hand!

Next up was the Pure X Savannah Drying Towel - this is a must have! Super absorbent, so soft, dust free drying - I'll use no other towel to dry my car again! As is stated on the AF SA website 'it can retain 900% its weight in water'.

Also AF Tripple - this stuff worked so well as a gloss enhancer on the White paint! I tried a few combinations, just to get some added depth and squeeze out the last bit of gloss, and I found the Tripple to work very well on the White paint when paired with a white LC polishing pad.

As usual, the car was washed:

The usual Cyclo APC and wheel cleaning fare.

Then it was polished:

Lovely enhanced definition coming through from the paint under the lights.

Then it was sealed using BlackFire Wet Diamond Sealant. I was keen to see how it worked on a white car, I was not disappointed!
