And to think I was offered one quite a few years ago for R400k, saying that, those few years ago I couldn't come close to affording R400k. LOL

I remember playing rugby at Hilton College in 1986 and drooling over a white M1 that was parked there. Belonged to one of the parents of a Hilton pupil no doubt.

It has such beautiful lines.... but those rims :thumbdo:

Nice, but the topic of the thread is wrong.

This, of course, is the reason why the 1M was called the 1M and not the M1. There can only be one M1!

One can not call an M1 a 1M lol :RedNo:

Thats sacrilegious and insulting to the M1 ,
The M1 is the Boss of all M`s

This car is so Beautiful! Thanks for sharing!

But I think they are wrong , this is not the only M1 in the country , I have personally seen at least 3 or 4 already , two were seen at car shows with GP registration plates. I even remember seeing a red one like this at a car show in Durban a long time ago , And if I remember correctly I saw another red one at Sun City a few times back in the 90s I vaguely remember CA plates on that car . Man I loved that car .

Im surprised to read that they mention that the SA-built 530 MLE should be viewed as the first real M-car.. Thats pretty awesome , I had no idea!

We had such unique cars back then , 325is ,333i , 745i with the M motor etc etc ...where did it all go wrong ..

At a BMW show a few years ago at monte there were 2 M1 cars. Both were red iirc.

I saw this particular M1 at rob green motorsport about 12 years ago, was absolutely mint!
Only other time I had seen one was as a kid at the rand easter show.
