Got M-Vip tickets to join Auto Bavaria convoy from Harties to Kyalami. Which I'd absolutely be down for had I not been so busy. Problem is I have to bring my M3. It's in KZN some 700km away. I wish I had time to drive up for the day, but it's just a busy period workwise... and especially with Diwali on Sunday....I'm going to have to cancel. :(

So disappointed. Looks to be epic.

We were there today...had normal tickets...saw the queue for the hot laps...tried it once...stood for a while and then got told the queue is now closed until the next session which started some 2 hours later. People started queuing right there and then for the 2 hour later session...didn't bother doing it again. Next year will fork out more for VIP or whatever it takes tickets.

Food stalls aplenty, awesome bathroom facilities (this is always a big one for anyone taking females or kids with), very cool BMW car displays, plenty good deals on new cars - roughly on average R100k discount and they were selling like hot cakes.

I'd give it a 6.5/10 - will go again. My biggest gripe was the absolute horrible road you need to take to leave...the road is worse than a farm and most def not suited to our cars....seriously don't know what they were thinking.

There were proper deals on some cars. Had an epic run with ABM. If I didn't get the VIP tickets free I would have been upset value wise. Howler was trash as usual. If I didn't have free tickets I would not gave gone. Will post more when I'm not on mobile

This was BMW M(arketing) at it's best :roflol:

Highlights for me were the historic cars and the DTM car.

Unless you coughing out big money to go around the track, its honestly not worth it. 2 big issues i had, which i preempted and averted

1) glad i didnt wear my white all stars because parking was in the gravel

2) the exit was horrific, iv seen roads in locations with more tar and less potholes

Lastly, bmw is definitely losing the plot with these huge, fake grills ( i say fake cos they don't allow any air through)

Spent the morning there with my family and a few Fanatics.

I honestly had a lukker time and because we were there so early, when gates opened, we had plenty of time to inspect every car we wanted to and take plenty pics with not many people around.

I knew before hand the ques for Track rides for non Vip members would be insane, and it was, so we didn't bother.

My views... I loved it because we got the time to check EVERYTHING out. I for one love most of the new shapes and the radical designs, but my biggest thing about the new ranges, is that BMW has finally come to the party with their interior and build quality. The new 3 series leagues ahead of the f30, it's not even close to a comparison, and the new 1er does the same the previous Gen. Really looking forward to seeing the the new 2 and hope it comes with a 6 Cyl awd as well.

The Heritage Race cars were insanely beautiful and I think I spent most of my time taking it all in just there

Personally I wouldn't be able to afford any of the new cars, but it's does give a lover of the brand the ability to once again dream of one owning one of them...

We were lucky enough to have a mvvip member with us, and the guard let us all park together... But I did hear the parking at the bottom was horrendous.

The discounts at the dealer/retail section was insane. M340 100k off, M5 400k off and an out going X6m had 700k off.... Brand new cars

Will I go back in 2 years? Propably yes, but will make sure to get around to getting time around the track.

I had a great experience on Saturday , I arrived at 8 and got to do the hot lap around 9:30... we just stood in the line until the next session was up and it was well worth it Since I jumped in the Greyish M4 CS and boy was it flying.. on the video I took he even went past 220km at one point. After that I moved up to the Driving course were you are driven on the short course in the M135i not sure if it’s drifting or not but it was weird how it looks slow from the outside but inside it’s a whole different story.

After that we went to test drives and it was a new experience being on the track although it was quite short I’m glad I got to drive a few of the new cars and have fun with it, had a go on the:
M135i
340i
330i
X5 M50i (The feel of being in this really stood out for me.. I was in awe) It’s really something else inside.
X3 M40i

I’ll definitely be there next year.

I wonder if these tracked cars are going to wind up sold as factory demos. Someone should have been reverse motorplan police and flagged these cars here on Fanatics

The grills are not fake bro, why do you say they don't allow any air through? The grill are closed and at a set temperature they open to let the air in to cool off the engine. They don't stay open all the time. I'm not sure at what temperatures they open though. Cool grills if I must say, will take some pictures when I catch them open and post

I would prefer the flap that open the air sit inside behind the kidney grills, so that they looked open all the time instead. This flat look doesn't look that great and that is also after having seen it in person. Much prefer the old look. Maybe I am just old, but this flat look when closed is ugly.

I had the fortune of going to the Festival and I was thoroughly impressed, had a great time and got see all the cars.

I was VVIP and as such got to experience the following:

- Drove an M5 Comp in the drag race and got to do a hot lap
- Drove an M3 and got to do a hot lap
- had the opportunity to go in the GT4 Racecar, but needed to catch a flight and had to give that up
- Drove the M135i and M340i on the short track which was cool
- Saw the M8 GC live (SA first country to see it live)
- and the nvoerall had a fantastic experience, parking was right at the M test drive section so not much walking

The cars were epic and impressive, I like BMW's new styling route, real differentiation between model lineups.
