Lubrication

Howsit guys.

I need a lubricant to lubricate my steering column bearings and to also lubricate a v belt pulley or 2, as a couple of them are squeaking a bit when the motor is cold. Any recommendations?

Help much appreciated.

Forgot to add: It must be an aerosol lube.

:thinking: dont lubricate the vbelts...they will just slip. are u sure its the pulleys ? and not the belts that need tensioning.

I plan on changing the v belts in the near future. Its not the v belt i want to lube, its the pulley itself. I am assuming this is possible:dunno:

Pulleys ride on sealed bearings, if they are noisy, it is time to replace. And no, you cannot replace the bearings separately, as the plastic part of the pulley is moulded around them. You might be able to find suitable ones at goldwagen...

They not that expensive to replace. Frikkieh replaced his 323i's pullies, all 3, + the 2 belts, all for about R900

Didnt know the pullies were that cheap.

Will look into replacing them all.
