Loud Viscous Fan E46 325ci

Hi Guys

Still trying to find my way around this forum.

I have a E46 325ci and seem to be getting an usually loud sound from the Viscous Fan. (Sounds like an Isuzu bakkie) Also feels very sugglish when i put my foot down. All this started when i realized the car was over heating.
Changed the thermostat and Viscous Fan only to discover there was a crack in the water bottle. Ever since changing the fan this is what im plagued with.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Kyle

I have the same damn issue :thumbdo: , on low RPM seems to be no power, the fan is loud when: just start car in the morning, then it subsides. when its substantially hot. the temp needle is smack in the middle. All mechanics say its normal :nonono:

can i ask this though, how much l/100km you getting on your trip comp? Kyleppret

About 17l/100km on average. As for your explanation the same thing is happening with my car

So should i buy another viscous fan and clutch?

Did you replace the clutch with an original one?

Have found replacement ones to not work as they should.

all the people I've spoken to say theres no need, but the sound is simply embarrassing when its at its peak.

in true honesty i have no idea if that will work buddy, but will do more research as I'm now more determined than ever.

i have a thread, the only thread I've ever posted about the issue, check it out.

wow 17 u say? thats a lot, in town driving only?

Do you drive a 325? If so what's your consumption? I get about 12.9 which I think is a lot.
