Loss of Power during hard acceleration M3 E92

Hi Guys,

My car has some "flat spots" during acceleration from 5000rpm about 2-4 times in each gear. When driving normally its back to normal. Any idea of what this might be? Lastly is it normal for the temperature to go slightly above 100degrees celcius and then back to and under 100.

Hey bud, best would be to get the errors checked. It can be a great many things, but I've a feeling your throttle actuators are acting up.

How long have you had the car? On mine, the temps go to about 105 under hard driving, then come down pretty quick to around 100 when going slower. It's only in the heat from the last few weeks that it's been doing it though.

Hey Bud! Well I just got it back from the panel beater after I heat a pavement, mostly just suspension but they did replace the engine oil cooler, So I am not sure if it isn't working properly and the car goes into some sort of a limp mode.

Sorry, hit. Car has 112000km on the clock. Also I recently had it serviced but they never reset the service indicator, do not know if this is also a cause?

During spirited driving stints the oil temp does go to more than 100 and drops to between 80 and 100 when you drive slower, depending on the ambient temp.

Vereeniging, took it for a drive this morning, Fuel Pump Fault, switched off the car and on, fault is gone? Will this be expensive?

Dude, anything on an M will be expensive. But fuel pump fault seems plausible, it's just not the kinda thing that fails often that I'm aware of. It might also be a clogged fuel filter, although the fault would then be a fuel pressure plausibility error

Agreed. Change the fuel filter and check for improvement.

Chances are, with motorplan, it's still on the factory fuel filter.
