Loose wire hanging behind...

What???

Went to see a client just now and as I approached my car from the rear where it is parked outside my office, I noticed a single wire hanging behind the car. It looks as if it comes from underneath the right rear of the bumper/wheel-arch and it is about 70cm long.

I don't have the right clothes on to duck underneath and I am quite baffled... It looks like a Pinkish wire with the loose end a sort of soft type of flat material as if it was sticking somewhere??

I will get underneath it tonight and try to take some pics if I can't find the place where it is supposed to be.

Maybe it has to do with the Tow-bar.

This is what it looks like...
To really see where it is still attached to the vehicle, I would need to take the Bumper off... That's a problem.

I tucked it in behind the boot, onto the bumber's inside and hope it will stay there... will keep an eye on it.

That is something distinctly aftermarket, it's not a BMW connector at the end.

Stretch the wire as far as it will go, subtract +/- 5-10 Cm and look where you are. That would be the location where it was plugged in, use a torch and find what it plugged in to.

What is strange is that the black piece at the end is plastic.. it doesn't really reach right to the Towbar and you can't really see anything where it could go...
Only thing that changed from yesterday to tomorrow, is that my Airbag light does not go off Again!! Rick540 cancelled it out for me about three months ago....

Ok, ok, it's the antenna for a tracker unit. If you don't have an active tracker, just cut the wire off.

Philip, drop by and we can check and reset the airbag fault.

The unit will be in the car at the end of that antenna, found one in IanE39's car yesterday as well.

Yep on "leave" (School and varsity vacation times) till February... no income till then it sucks, very stressfull.

I will be busy-ish for the next three weeks then just sitting around on my ass after that and can make myself usefull for all the promises I made this year.
