I cannot find this locally, the shop owners look at me as if I am nuts, it is the adaptor cassette to enable you to play your flash drive in the cassette player.

Anyone know where I can get this locally? Anyone here selling it?

Thanks

Not exactly what you're looking for...

http://www.bidorbuy.co.za/item/1419..._for_MP3_CD_Phone_Car_Audio_Tape_Adapter.html

I ordered this on Friday so should get it this week... Will report back on how it works

WOW. Thats a blast from the past :joy:

Remember hooking that up to my CD Walkman  it only worked 10% of the time , but when it did it was awesome

 Its cheap and if it doesn't work its not so much to lose money wise...

If it works decently then thats cool too

Yep,

I would like to be able to play my flash drive with the tape deck, sticking any normal aftermarket car radio into the E46 dash is going to look well ... aftermarket and out of place.

This week you say?

I'm guessing you either have an iPod or you'll use your phone?

I'm curious to know how it works with the phone

I currently have a transmitter that you plug onto your phone (via 3.5mm jack) and then select a frequency on the devise.

Then on your car radio (or any radio) you select the same frequency as the one on the devise and it picks up whatever the device is playing. The range is decent as we were in convoy down to Durban last year and had three cars tuned in to the same station, listening to the music off of one phone.

The down side is that in Joburg there is a radio station every .2 of bloody frequency. So you never really have a quiet spot to tune to. There's always bad quality of radio jabber picking up somewhere.
