Long term storage

Hi guys

I would like to find out what the correct process is to store my 320d for an extended period of time.

Now it being a diesel I don't think it would be a good idea to drain the fuel. But any advise would be appreciated.

Diesel does have a lifespan, depends how long you want to store it for. I am also interested, please let me know if find any options

Rather store with a full tank than a half empty tank.

Roughly a year, I have just fitted new rubber and am scared that the Tyres get damaged.

Remove the wheels then. Lay them flat and deflate the tyres.

1 year isnt bad at all. Put the car on axle stands so you dont get flat spots on the tyre's. I wouldn't fill up the diesel either leave the car on reserve and disconnect the battery. When you come back get a Jerry can of fresh diesel and some diesel cleaner additive and you sorted oh and a trickle charger because you will need to recharge the car battery.:=):

Why store it, sell it while it's worth more than what it would be a year from now. Next year, look for another one, or something else.

You will get flat spots for storing for that long. I have tried a number of things to stop it but regular rolling is the easiest. But if you have no-one to or no space to have a rolled every week, best bet is to put it on axle stands, but make sure they are under the axle, because you don't want the suspension at full droop, it damages the bushes.

Leave battery in the car on a smart charger. I just feel better having a car energised. You don't know what back-up power supplies are being screwed by having the car dead for a year.

Leave windows slightly down.
